So you just dropped $400 on the best MP3 player out there. (O.K. mp4 i tunes sharing but not really.) First step protect your investment in great entertainment.
I use this case at work on a construction sight, on the trails kayaking and hanging out at the beach. Except for one time on my kayak it has never been wet. I did test it in the sink with cotton balls at about 12" under water for 2-3 hours and no leaks. But what really makes this case rock is: No scratches No dirty hands, finger prints, liquids, dust, sand, mud or rain will ever touch you i pod!!! You can drop it waist height without damage ( don't know about on concrete ) Has the best belt clip easy on/off but stays on You operate the wheel from OUTSIDE very easily even with gloves! The only improvement would be if you could sink and charge without removing it from the case but other than that this will ensure you expensive toy is protected well worth $50

The best case I've ever used,
This review is from: Otterbox 908-01.3 Waterproof Case for iPod Video 30/60/80GB with Click Wheel Access (Electronics)
I love this case. It keeps my iPod well-protected from scratches, water, and potential shocks of normal usage.
There are a few potential drawbacks for some people but they have not bothered me. First, the case is much bulkier than any other iPod case I have used. Personally,I would much rather this than to have to worry about walking around with my iPod in the rain. Also, the iPod dock connector is not accessible with the case closed. Since I only use this feature at my computer and for my FM transmitter I don't mind having to open the case to be able to access this. I do worry a little about wearing down the hinge by opening and closing it at least twice a day but given the sturdy construction of this case I don't think that is an immediate concern. If I do have to replace my case in the future I would choose this case again, without hesitation.

When I got my partner a video iPod I knew she had to have something waterproof, not just scratch and shock resistant--after a bunch of research, I couldn't find anyone but Otterbox making a case that fit the bill. It seemed a little expensive, but, considering the item it was protecting, a small insurance: I didn't want her to have to hesitate about throwing it in her purse or bag and taking it with her wherever she might want music and movies. I find it is a good size and balance to hold while watching videos, and not too big clipped on the hip, though she actually puts it in her pocket (and dances around the kitchen while baking or washing dishes.) I just don't think you could consider using an iPod in wet environments without the Otterbox Waterproof case. We were both totally happy with it when my sister (notorious for dropping cell phones in toilets and drinks) got her iPod, so I said to her, you have to get an Otterbox, don't even unpack that thing until the case arrives. She procrastinated so I came back to Amazon and ordered another. I was more gratified than annoyed to see they have come down in price, but I wouldn't want to have waited: it was worth even more for the peace of mind. While nothing disgusting has occurred, I can say for a fact that between them these iPods have been camping, on walks in the rain, which included watching videos, fallen asleep with, including in the bath tub, dropped on a concrete floor (I did that one) and they are still in pristine, out of the box condition. Without the Otterbox's protection they would probably both be dead by now. The only times an iPod comes out are to charge or sinc with the computer. (The one drawback, perhaps, but it is a safer design this way.) Because it has become the thing that is always in the Otter Box, we have nicknamed the iPod the Otter.
