**Note: We also purchased the Otterbox Commuter (just in case the Defender was too heavy) and didn't really care for it.**

**After buying the Otterbox Defender for IPad, we WILL now buy them for our Ipod touch and our cell phones!**

We LOVE the Otterbox Defender for the IPAD! Since the IPad is popular for being sleek and light, we were very concerned based on other feedback that it would be way too heavy for the IPad.

The OBDefender did add a little weight, but the weight to us is better. It makes the $600 IPad feel like it won't just snap in half. We know that the Ipad is supposed to be durable, but you can't help carrying it around gingerly so that you don't hurt the dainty little thing.

Also the case feels great to hold, we can sit anywhere and use it. We no longer worry about our 6 year old carrying it around and potentially dropping it. My wife paid the extra $10 and got the pink... Good Choice for her.

The OBDefender is very easy to install. Takes a couple of minutes, mainly to read the instructions. The piece that is removed for battery charges is extremely easy to work. I have seen not so perfect reviews for this case and I simply don't understand.

Also, the stand works out for us. It comes built into the cover!! You can use it in Profile or landscape modes. We don't use a stand that much so it is ok.

The picture should show that the cover that goes over the front (when you are not using / traveling) snaps easily to the back.

I love the color of this otterbox! I verified with the actual otterbox website that this model will fit the iPad2. And otterbox said it was good for use on an iPad2. However, I was very disappointed to see that it does not. The iPad itself fits very well but the head phone port, on/off switch and volume button and mute button do not line up with the case. These buttons and switches are recessed farther into the case than the rubber skin can reach to adjust them. There also is not a hole in the back of the case for the rear camera. It is still a great product. Just not good for the iPad2.

Recently I purchased a new SUV and instead of getting an integrated DVD system that could only be used while we were in the vehicle, I made the jump to individual iPads for each of my 3 kids. Now they can take that iPad with them anywhere they go, and use it in the car when we go somewhere.

The cost of the 3 iPads was similar to what a DVD system would have cost, but individually... they're kind of an expensive toy that you're entrusting to a child. That means that you need something to protect it, and for me I could do no better than the Otterbox Defender series. Buying through Amazon saved me almost 50%, and I was able to get 3 different colors so the kids could always tell which iPad was theirs. It goes on easily and really protects the device.

The only thing I had a little difficulty with was the screen protector that is applied before putting on the cover, and I seemed to have the best luck with the third iPad by just putting it on quickly instead of trying and trying for perfection. I got a single air bubble on the first couple, but was able to achieve perfection on the last one.

I would definitely buy this again.

I think the title of my review says it all. Otterbox has not yet released cases for iPad 2.

This case was very nice. Covers my iPad great. It did seem a little heavy and wish the clear film was more durable. I've had the case about a month and have already replaced the clear film. My son scratched it with the back end of the iPad pen. The cover is like no other in stores would recommend. Maybe just replace the clear film with a more durable one.

I got the pink and back case because I wanted some color, and I have to say the color is very different on the screen, I call the hot pink, more "Hot Barbie pink" rather than the deep pink berry tone on the screen. It definately adds some weight to the Ipad which is fine, the only other issue I have is that it picks up every crumb and lint in my bag. Overall however I feel my ipad is well protected and I love the stand

I bought this case for my iPad 1 because my 2 year old has come to the conclusion that the device is hers (and she kindly allows me to use it occasionally). I was sick of watching her like a hawk every time she used it, and after 1 fall from the couch, I decided a more durable case was in order (I only had a skin on it previously). The Otterbox defender has not disappointed! The case itself is very sturdy and durable. It does make the iPad quite heavy, so on the occasions I am holding the iPad in one hand and typing with the other, it gets tiring very quick. However, on the plus side, the heavy weight means my daughter is unable to throw the thing across the room. The case itself consists of hard plastic (the pink part) surrounded by a rubber exterior (the black part). It took about 5 minutes to put on and hasn't budged since. All of the controls and such work perfectly thru the case as well.

The case comes with a screen protector and chamois to attach first, then the iPad slips into the case itself, and then there is a 3rd piece of hard plastic not shown in the pics for this color, but pictured in the other listings on amazon. In the case of the black/pink color case, this piece of plastic is pink, and it snaps onto either the front or the back of the iPad case. It's a nice feature to have, especially for screen protection if you are throwing the iPad into your bag/backpack. However, since it is separate, I often forget to snap it onto the back and then am looking around for it later. This separate piece also has the stand attached to the inside. The stand is nice, but hard to set up 1 handed ( as I often am when dealing with 2 kids) and really works best in landscape. I find it slips occasionally when used in portrait.

Other than those minor issues with the front panel, I am completely satisfied with this case. The color is super cool and I no longer worry about my kid breaking my #1 gadget!

Awesome product! Well constructed and provides a lot more protection. I got it for my daughter's iPad, knowing it will get dropped, bumped, and knocked about. As a plus, she loves the pink and black colors!

WIFE ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! SHE HAS DROPPED IT A COUPLE OF TIMES AND IT STILL KEEPS TICKING! HIGH RECOMMEND IT.

This is is an easy to install product, priced appropriately, that offers excellent protection. I have a child using an ipad valued at $700. I fell like this Otterbox totally keeps it safe from most abuses it could possibly encounter. We are 100% satisfied and it looks awesome too...lots of compliments!!! Highly recommend!!
