* Durability - This case will likely outlive my Nook. I have an Otterbox on my two year old Blackberry, and it is still looks great. I feel comfortable dropping my Nook into a backpack and the Otterbox protecting it fully.
* Handling - The texture of this case makes it easier for me to hold on to my Nook, and I don't have the fear of it slipping out of my hands.
* Size - Fits the Nook perfectly, and does not add much to the overall size.
Be forewarned if this product was recommended to you by another Otterbox owner. It is not like the otterbox you can buy for your cell phones. Most Otterbox cell phone protectors are water proof. THis is not. It is sealed on the top which will protect from rain, but not on the bottom. Also, the Otterbox for Iphone has a hard plastic clear cover to protect the screen. The adhesive screen proector that comes with the Commuter series for Nook has high glare, and is not the same shape as the nook screen.
The only drawback to this product is the white of the nook frame is still exposed. I have been looking far and wide for a product that covers the white, to no avail. But this product provides sufficient coverage and protection. I compensated for the exposed white with a piece of electrical tape. Bang, instant black nook.
I give this five stars because it looks good, protects your nook, and is functional.
My only concern was that the cover needs to be removed to access the micro SD slot on the back, but I only had to open it once before installing the cover to install a Rooted micro SD card. Because I bought a dual boot Root card, I don't need to remove it to reboot in either Nook or Android modes. I added a Zagg Invisible Shield screen protector to complete the coverage of my Nook Color and I am very happy with the results.
