This 1930 Newbery-winning classic remains a delight when heard with Jan Maxwell's clear, precise narration, which is suitable to a doll's steady nature. The first-person narration of a century of adventures will appeal to a wide age range, though stories of a doll's experiences are more likely to be popular with girls.
