I just got this book for my birthday and couldn't put it down. I am NOT a cook at all. But this book inspires me to make mealtime a priority for my family. The recipes are full of beautiful photos, recognizable ingredients and fantastic alternatives. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this and am so glad Sara and Kate took the time to share their talents with us! Buy one for you and one for each of your friends!

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Cookbook! March 20, 2011
Format:Hardcover-spiral
I have never been much of a cook. Recipes are hard to follow, use weird ingredients and take way too much time. Our Best Bites is awesome! I've followed the blog for a while and thought the recipes looked delicious. I just bought the book last week and have already made 5 things from it-all turned out so great! I can't wait to keep making more and more from it. Way to go girls!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspiring! April 8, 2011
Format:Hardcover-spiral|Amazon Verified Purchase
As a mom and wife who doesn't care much for cooking, this book has changed me! I have tried so many new recipes from this book which are easy enough to follow and over the top tasty! The book itself is "user friendly" with it's spiral binding making it easy to keep the page open while you follow it and the pictures are beautiful!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun! April 2, 2011
Format:Hardcover-spiral|Amazon Verified Purchase
I followed the blog, and was excited to see a cookbook. I love how easy the recipes are to make and taste wonderful. I did notice many of the recipes use the same flavor profiles... alot of cilantro, chili, lime, and mango flavors. Alot of Chipotle Chili Powder. I love how they use "roll over" ideas from recipe to recipe...reinventing left overs into new entrees. I do with there were more recipes in some sections, like the bread section. Overall pleased.

1.0 out of 5 stars So sad! March 23, 2011
By lisa
Format:Hardcover-spiral|Amazon Verified Purchase
I really love the blog and figured I would love the recipe book too, but I love the book even more! I think there are wonderful new recipes and I love that all my favorite recipes are now in one book!
Honestly, I have yet to find a recipe of theirs I don't like.
My favorite recipe book, by far!
The only thing is that the book is poorly made. The pages seem too heavy for the spine and binding of the hardcover book.

UPDATE:::: My book has completely fallen apart. The binding was too heavy and totally ripped out of the spine/book. I Honestly can't even turn the pages with out them coming completely off the bind. It's a mess! I have to keep trying to fit them back into the binding... so so so inconvenient. I have to go back to the computer now to look up the recipes online and I got the book so I didn't have to do that.... so frustrating!

I want to order another book, but feel bitter about it, and who knows if it will happen again!

I'm a Jew married to a Hindu, so why did I purchase a cookbook subtitled Mormon Moms in the Kitchen? Simple. Every recipe I've tried from the Our Best Bites blog has been a hands down success as well as something my entire family will eat. Whether it's a salad, a main dish or a quick bread, the recipes have cooked up perfectly each time and they're full of flavor. I wish Sara and Kate nothing but the best!

4.0 out of 5 stars Just about as good as it gets June 17, 2011
Format:Hardcover-spiral
I love cookbooks. I purchased this one on a whim and I am very happy I did. Most recipes from "busy moms" tend to be, well... not my kind of food. (I admit the "Mormom Mom" thing had me worried I'd find a book full of cottage cheese and shredded carrots and condensed soup). Kate and Sara have put together a fresh and tasty collection of food that makes you proud to cook, and each recipe is accompanied by a lovely photo. Plus, there are TONS of tutorials, tips, and suggestions for leftover ingredients such as buttermilk (which I have yet to use a whole container of). If you are at all skeptical, just check out the Our Best Bits blog and I'm sure you'll be sold.

So why only four stars? The binding isn't so great. If not handled carefully, the pages slip out and it's kind of a pain to get them back in. Additionally, a book this size should have some tabs so you can flip to the section you need a little easier.

4.0 out of 5 stars Overall an Excellent Cookbook, missing one thing March 23, 2011

Format:Hardcover-spiral|Amazon Verified Purchase
Overall I love this cookbook and I've been using it often. The thing that I wish it had but didn't, were tabs for each section. The other day I was making their sweet potato fries, knew it was in the sides section, but had to thumb through the pages to find the section. Really just a minor thing that seemed to annoy me at the time. However, I still recommend it. It's easy to read, not complicated at all, and the recipes are great for entertaining. I especially love the measurement converter. I don't know how many times I have to open up the laptop to figure out how many cups are in 16ozs!
