Book Description

March 13, 2008
For Our Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant Friends introduces those in Churches that teach "salvation is a process" to the Jesus of the New Testament. Readers learn that this Jesus: . Paid the full sin debt for all of mankind for all time on the cross . Gives instantaneous and irrevocable salvation to those who place their trust in Him alone for salvation . Gave us His Word as a testimony for ever . Condemns the traditions of men taught by most denominations . Commands all believers to be witnesses for Him If you have friends or family traveling the broad path of a faith-plus-works salvation system, placing their trust in their Church for salvation, this book is for them. If you want to be a better witness to friends and family caught up in sacramental salvation systems, this book is for you. Satan's plans for keeping sinful mankind and God separated for eternity are explored, along with some of the historical figures he used, including Constantine and Hitler, in an attempt to destroy God's chosen people and His plan of salvation. The error of Churches becoming legislative and changing God's laws is discussed, along with the destructive consequences of same, including the rotten fruit of replacement theology. Dan Kane lives in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is a member of Liberty Baptist Church, where he serves as an adult Bible study teacher. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in several states and is involved in the disposal of radioactive waste. Raised and educated a Roman Catholic through college, Dan has a heart for those caught up in the false teachings of faith-plus-works salvation systems. 1.0 out of 5 stars Unfortunately Incomplete, June 26, 2009
By
Margaret M. Mueller (Roseville, California) - See all my reviews

This review is from: For Our Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant Friends (Paperback)
The book is a Euro-centric, incomplete attempt at tracing the origins of Christian beliefs and practices while relying upon narrow versification (building a theological system on one verse of scripture in English)of the New Testament. Eastern Christianity's liturgical and sacramental life is a Christ-directed fulfillment of God's Word to the Hebrews in the Old Testament. Roman Christianity, and it's Protestant children have forgotten what God established in the Old Testament for the Hebrews (liturgy & sacraments) were amplified and fulfilled in Christ. Eastern Christian 20-century comprehension of New Testament Biblical Greek, along with it's 2nd century b.c. Septuagint Old Testament in Greek, solidly supports that salvation is a process, that sacraments were established by God, and that God's favor is not a guarantee bestowing salvation to everyone indiscriminantly. Good books that provide balance to Kane's point of view while gracefully acknowledging Western Christian (European) perspectives include: Jesus the Messiah in the Hebrew Bible (Pentiuc), A Light from the Christian East (Payne), and Common Ground (Bajis).

4.0 out of 5 stars The Debt of Sin - Paid in Full, September 18, 2009
This review is from: For Our Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant Friends (Paperback)
"For Our Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant Friends" introduces the reader to the Jesus of the New Testament and helps them understand how God's Word came down to man. Author Dan Kane was raised and educated a Roman Catholic. At age 41 Dan came to the realization that the debt for man's sin had been paid for by Jesus on the cross. He accepted this gift of salvation by putting his trust in Jesus Christ.

The book is comprehensive, clearly communicating foundational truths of the Bible and the Gospel of Christ. Kane writes in east to understand layman's terms. Summary titles within the narrative of each chapter help the reader focus on and assimilate the material covered.

I found the chapter titled "That You May Know That You Have Eternal Life" especially important as it provides the reader with the scriptural reinforcement for the assurance of eternal life in Christ.

For reader's steeped in Church tradition, the material in the chapter titled simply "Tradition" will be insightful and eye opening in light of the scriptures provided.

In an appendix Kane includes a complete study detailing the characteristics of the New Testament Church based on scriptures from both the Old and New Testaments.

"For Our Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant Friends" can be used as an individual study, in a small group, or as a tool for a foundational study with new believers.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Real Deal, May 7, 2008

This book does an excellent job of pointing out where churches teach doctrines counter to God's Word. The author traces the history of paganism entering into truly Christian churches that produced the apostasy we have today. It separates the wheat from the chaff!
