Helpful, Although It Is An Instructor's Guide, June 14, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Our Child: Preparation for Parenting in Adoption : Instructor's Guide (Paperback)
This is a good resource book for people who are adopting although it is written as an instructor's guide for people who are teaching a course on adoptive parenting. Has helpful information about parenting issues related to adoption such as special issues related to adoption, infertility and adoption, preparing your self, family and friends, and adoptive nursing. Also as some very limited general information about baby care, growth, and child proofing. Has a list of resources and a very extensive bibliography. Only gave 3 stars becuase the parts about establishing a program, doing publicity, teaching styles and program evaluation did not apply to me. The book overall is helpful becuase there are not classes avavilable in my area for poeple considering adoptive parenting.
