Our Heritage in the Making is a short history of the origins of New Orleans' style jazz. The reader will discover the many different neighborhoods that contributed to the peculiar syncopations of the new art form. A festival not only showcasing music, but a shared heritage that had been borne out of the richly mixed neighborhoods of New Orleans.

From the Publisher

The book is interesting because it is rendered in a reader friendly format. The prose is swift and swings like jazz itself; so it's a quick read. Also the jazz fest history is handled in a chronological format whereby the reader can digest singular nuggets of information that are sure to prompt conversation.

This a great read for the native New Orleanian and visitors to
the city. Well documented with little known but interesting
facts about the local jazz scene.
