5.0 out of 5 stars Very very pretty.
As stated by the opening line, "You know the fun of watching fireworks is built pretty much around the a capella vocal that you do with or after each explosion, alright? We provide the fireworks, you do the oooh's and ahhh's." And ever since I put this wonderful album on, I haven't stopped doing just that. If you enjoyed the warm Farfisa on Yo La...

If you enjoyed the warm Farfisa on Yo La Tengo's "Autumn Sweater," liked the drums on Arab Strap's "Philophobia," and enjoy the sweet beauty of bands like Low and Luna, then this is definitely for you. This album takes my breath away like nothing has in a long time.....at least not since hearing Yo La Tengo's "I Can Hear the Heart..." two years ago. Buy it soon because you will be very, very glad that you did.

5.0 out of 5 stars Clear summer night-no work tomorrow-Lets just sit right here, July 28, 1999

Wow!! What a wonderful group AAS are. Gorgeous music that blends so well ya forget there is soo much going on at times--- soft instruments/vocals just gliding over each other. This music has an odd effect of calming my mind and energizing my spirit. I had the good fortune of seeing AAS on the last night of their tour. As a whole they looked as bad as they smelled----Ahhh, but the music!!! They pulled off every luscious note,-crystal clean. They could of played all night. You have shows and you have experiences. They were an experience beyond simple music.

I first heard about this group on National Public Radio and decided to buy their CD on a lark. Well, I have to say that I'm pleasantly surprised. This is the best CD I listened to for quite some time. It's the perfect music to relax to after a long day at work.

This CD is excellent! Turn off all the lights, light a few candles, turn on this CD and it sets the most amazing mood for meditation, romance, or just plain relaxing. I would recommend this CD to anyone, along with any of the rest of American Analog Set's music. It's all just beautiful.

This CD continues to grow on me. It reminds me in some way of very early day Pink Floyd. However you listen to it, it is great for any mood.

No giant hand full of music dynamic rainbows will grab you. You will not be instantly enveloped when playing From Our Living Room To Yours.

The American Analog Set here make some of the most stripped, quiet music I have listened to in years.

If you can recall rock and roll around 1967, 1968, when Farfisa organs ruled both pop and psych and even stereo had a slightly hollow treble, you'll start to wake to the sound of this band, That Farfisa, or a keyboard that sounds damn near it, rules this music, which is built on sparely played bass and drums and strummed guitar.

This is not, though, `1960s music. American Analog Set come from a different angle of the 1990s experimentation that brought you bands like Stereolab and The High Llamas. This unit, though, is not interested in rhythm or texture. They work on the almost silent edges of minimal rock influenced by Can and The Velvet Undreground; strip to naked essentials, and let the musical patterns slowly draw in the listener through patient repetition.

If you can flow with this concept, and the sound it translates to, you will be rewarded by From Our Living Room To Yours. Personally, I like my trumpets and cello and musical surprises wrapped in rainbow paper. But if you, unlike me, can sit quietly with the zen master and be still, this music will set well with you
