Good, but I'm not crazy in love with it,

Warning: This review might contain what some people consider SPOILERS.
Rating: 7/10 PROS: - Ian and Cassidy's connection, the depth of which neither of them is fully aware, is depicted well: they anticipate each other's needs, understand each other's expressions, finish each other's sentences, etc. - There's some hot sex, two or three scenes in particular. - The feelings of jealousy that I feel must be inevitable in most threeway relationships are explored in a fair amount of detail. Those parts aren't necessarily pleasant to read, but I admired Thompson's willingness to look at the negative side to threesomes as well as the positive. CONS: - The way that Ian and Cassidy invite Kye into their lives so quickly weirded me out a little. Cassidy meets Kye in a bar and asks him to go home with her after maybe an hour: okay, I get that. That's typical bar behavior for some people. But I raised my eyebrows when the next morning (after no sex, mind you, so the "we slept together so we're connected" thing's not there), she and Ian allow Kye access to all of their business records. - Kye's wanderlust tendencies seem to go away or be quenched or whatever very quickly. I didn't quite buy the speed with which he realizes he's ready to settle down to hearth and home. In fact, I didn't believe at the end that he was there to stay forever. - More flowery language in the sex scenes in this book than I remember encountering in the other Thompson novels I've read: "petals of her sex," "sweet nectar," "hooded pearl," etc. Ich. I much prefer the simple names of body parts and such. Overall comments: This is a decent book; there's a bit of angst thrown in, but nothing that lasts too long or is too painful, and the writing is solid. With others of Thompson's books, though (Handyman and Switch, to be precise), I was left with a warm, delicious feeling after finishing them, and that's just not present after reading this one.

Our Man Friday,
This review is from: Our Man Friday (Paperback)
Cassidy is in love with her ex boyfriend Ian. While they focus on their friendship and business partnership, she can't help but continue to love him. They share a house and their lives but that is all. Cassidy wants more.
Ian is scared to commit. Scared of being hurt he pushes away those that mean the most to him; hence why he and Cassidy are now friends instead of the lovers Ian wants them to be. Kye McClellan is a gypsy of sorts. A jack of all trades, he enjoys helping out where he is needed. He never stays in any place too long before he wants to enjoy freedom again. When he goes home with Cassidy to help her with her business and financial records, Kye never expected to suddenly want a home and hearth. And that scares the heck out of him. Before he leaves, however, he will try his best to get Ian and Cassidy together in each other's arms, where they belong not knowing that he will want to be the final part of their triad. Not a typical ménage romance, Our Man Friday is a bit different. I am used to having one couple already established prior to inviting a third and so the fact that Ian and Cassidy were just friends was original to me. Cassidy's invitation to Kye was a bit far fetched because in this day and age, I don't see anyone inviting an unknown stranger into their home to sort through and look at financial records. Kye was hot, I'll give him that but he angered me more than once the times he left Ian and Cassidy. Ian and Cassidy's relationship evolved into something beautiful thanks to Kye. Our Man Friday by Claire Thompson is erotic and naughty. The emotions of the characters are realistic but I just didn't buy into Kye's commitment to Ian and Cassidy. I felt he was gratuitous towards them. As a ménage, Our Man Friday is scorching hot; as a true love match between all three characters of the ménage? Not so much. I would skip this book unless you are a die hard Claire Thompson fan. Talia Reviewed for Joyfully Reviewed

Predictable and Lacking,
By
This review is from: Our Man Friday (Kindle Edition)
So this book was not at all what I was expecting, and not in a good way. I would hardly say that the sex was hot and that is was predictable. I felt like the sex was forced from the writer and that it was added just so the book would fit into the genre. Also, I thought that it was rather boring considering the genre this book falls under. The romance was almost nonexistent, at least to me. I'm not sure I would ever recommend this book to anyone, but it was a fast read in a milder book. Not sure if this is ever one that I will reread.

This was a good book....read the other reviews for a synopsis as I am never good at those. This was all in all a good, fast, and steamy read. I feel the author did a fantastic job depicting the emotions of all of the three main characters, and I really felt engaged in the story. There was some flashing back to the past for all of the characters, and I feel that part of the book could have possibly been a bit more in depth.
But the story was solid, and the emotion felt real. The sex scenes were steamy! I really enjoyed this author's writing style, and I will be looking for other books by her, as I felt she captured the vulnerability of the situation well, and it was pretty darn steamy!!!!

This is the first book I've read by this author, but it won't be the last. The story was well written with plently of back story and developed characters. I love that the pace of the romance was built up nicely and the characters didn't all jump into bed together after only 3 pages. The story was also fairly long, so you don't feel cheated :)

suprised by the effect of this book. I like reading about these three. there were some really hot scenes about the two guys and then of them with her but, also one about rejection of affections. pretty strange how they shared all of the responsibilities of the business and house. I find it hard to believe you could share your lover but, I like reading about it!

OK, let me just say holy cow. hubbahubba and OMG. this is one of my personal favorites. i'm generally a huge fan of paranormal romance but stumbled on this non-paranormal story and fell head over heels for the characters. i mean come on how could you not. 2 roommates that are in love and don't know it and all they need is one hot irishman to make them happy. but once the lovebirds reconnect where dose that leave our man friday??? i'm a fan of R G Alexander and the dark-hunter and vampire huntress books and this is just as detailed. And it's so sweet and lovie and a little sad... and did i mention hot? yeah M/M/F hot. emmmmm. yeah i highly recommend.

This review is from: Our Man Friday (Paperback)
Our Man Friday is sensual and erotic with a captivating story line and a moral or two to the story. This novel is about three people attempting to work through their past issues and fears to determine whether they can have a relationship as lovers, partners in business, both or neither. Artists tend to be free spirits and when all three people in a ménage are artists, it is bound to be an interesting time.
