I wouldn't feed my dog without it!,
By
This review is from: Atomic Treat Ball - 3" (Misc.)
My Australian Shepherd eats every meal out of his Molecuball. It helps get some of his energy out and stimulates his brain a bit. The shape of the ball makes it a little trickier to get out food than other treat balls. Doggie has to work for it! However, he has gotten very good at getting his kibble out quite fast. He carries the ball around everywhere hoping I will continue to feed him.
This ball is extremely durable and makes minimal noise. It can roll on the carpet. It is a softer plastic, not a hard, noisy plastic...like some similar treat balls on the market.

Best treat ball we've found,
By
This review is from: Atomic Treat Ball - 3" (Misc.)
Treat balls are the best way for me to keep my active terrier mix busy in the house and we've tried several of them, including the Kong biscuit ball and the Buster Cube. Benji's a chewer and he'll disembowel plush toys pretty quickly. So we prefer rubber toys he can't destroy and which don't make a lot of noise (the Buster Cube is hard plastic and it's hard to take in the same room with the dog knocking it around). The Atomic Treat Ball (3 in.) is the best we've found.
While I'd prefer a smaller or adjustable hole, we've found a couple of treats Benji likes that make him work to get them out: the small size Milk Bones and the heart shaped Paul Newman treats. Both of these are just a little too big for him to get out of the toy by rolling it around. He has to squeeze the opening with his teeth just the right way and hope that he gets lucky. Plus the biscuit treats don't spoil if they remain in the toy. Another bonus is that the treat ball is just a little too large for him to lose under much of our furniture. Don't you hate it when you get a new toy, the dog loves it, and it disappears within the first five minutes if you turn your back? :)

You can find it cheaper than $17,

I just got this at PetSmart today for $6 and the dogs seem a bit perplexed. They enjoy it and have had fun batting it around, but I think they would rather I put their food in a bowl for them - instead of working for it. I have two of the laziest highest-energy lab mixes around.
However, I would tell anyone looking to purchase it to buy from another vendor. Amazon used to have one on here that offered the Atomic Treat Ball for $4, since I missed that boat I ended up buying mine at PetSmart for $6 (as mentioned above). Good treat toy- but not for $17. PS- I only gave it 4 stars because I really don't feel like we've had adequate experience with it to say if it is well made or not. It DOES feel sturdy... I'll update after we've had this for a while longer! UPDATE: Great toy once the dogs got used to it. They now easily knock the food out of it & get excited to use it. It's extremely sturdy, my youngest one carries it from room to room to enjoy it in private.

Puppy Proof!,
By
This review is from: Atomic Treat Ball - 3" (Misc.)
What a great toy! My puppy loves trying to get treats out of it. He will chase it around the house for hours. He even figured out how to bat it out of corners.
This toy is fun for the whole family. We all get a kick out of watching the dog chase it around intently. The kids even like trying to get the treats out for the dog if he's having a hard time. When the dog doesn't want to have an audience, it is easy for him to mouth the whole thing and take it to another room for some privacy. This is one of the only toys my puppy has that is still usable. It has withstood the razor sharp puppy teeth!

Maybe not for strong chewers,

I first bought the 5" ball for my coonhounds, but the hole was so large I didn't know what to put in it that wouldn't fall right back out, so I exchanged it for the 3" ball. The hole on the 3" ball is perfect for kibble or small treats. However, after about 3 minutes of batting it around one of my dogs decided to get the treats out by ripping the whole top off, which took him about 1 minute.

Decent toy,

Sometimes larger pieces do not want to come out and the puppy will lose interest. This will cause the food to rot and smell, since it's difficult to get out. However, I find a vigorous shaking usually gets those pieces out.
Also, because it's made of a harder plastic, the dog doesn't like to bite it very much. She'd rather bat it around with her nose and have the food come out that way. But I'm sure that's the way it was designed. A decent toy. Nothing ground-breaking about it.

Great treat dispenser,

I thought the kibble would come out too fast since the hole is kind of big and has no rim inside but it doesnt. My pugs really enjoy this toy. I prefer it over the buster cube because the cube is really loud on hardwood floors. While this plastic is harder than the vinyl toy buddies ball, it's preferred for us over the buster cube. Would recommend.

We got the atomic ball two days ago and it is already a clear favorite! Our dog is a bit strange and insists that somebody be near him or he won't eat...but put his dinner in the ball and he'll play and eat all night! This is going to be great for us in helping maintain his weight. The only downfall? We have to put it away when it's empty or he will continue batting it around waiting for treats to fall out. Overall, awesome toy!

Best for Fast-Eating Canine,
This review is from: Atomic Treat Ball - 3" (Misc.)
Instead of using the 'slow-down-your-fast-eating-dog bowls' I use the Molecuball. When the dog pushes it around, the dry kibble dispenses which allows my pet to be a mindful-eater without getting Bloat.

A GREAT BUY!,

My 10yr old beagle LOVES this thing! He can carry it easily, chew on it and push it around, but he can no longer eat too fast. Its great. Keeps him busy for a good while too. I wouldn't recommend this toy for chewers, as it is easy to grip and a softer plastic. MUCH less noisy than the buster cube, but the buster cube is better for heavy chewers. I even prefer this to the famed kong toy because the dog can't just sit and lick it, they've got to walk and nudge it. Works their brain more. Great for young, old, big and small! Gives the dog a "mission".
