More About the Author

Paul Von Ward, born in 1939 on a share-cropper's farm, grew up in post- WW II Florida where he graduated (Phi Beta Kappa) from Florida State University -- then earned two Masters degrees, at FSU and Harvard. Trained in psychology, ordained as a Baptist minister, he became a U.S. naval officer in the Vietnam era -- then appointed a U.S. diplomat by President Johnson. Following 18 years public service overseas and in Washington, DC, he resigned to found an international nonprofit dedicated to cross-cultural understanding and cooperation. He became a leader in the citizen-diplomacy movement leading to Gorbachev's perestoika policies in the former USSR and private American bridges to China and other nations.

Paul's most recent book is "We've Never Been Alone: A History of Extraterrestrial Intervention" (2011) is an update of his 2004 book described below. It reframes the current human story of our origins, the basis of supernatural religions, the institutions of kingship and theocratic governments, and provides plausible explanations of our genetic evolution. It explains the basis of previous and present cultural and religious wars. It exposes the reasons why science has failed to incorporate the possibility of other conscious/intelligent beings who have and continue to interact with humans.

His first book, "Dismantling the Pyramid" (of government), in 1981 added to the Washington debate on government reform. His multifaceted career and continuing education prepared him to become an interdisciplinary cosmologist and prolific, independent scholar. His 1990's book "Solarian Legacy" (updated and expanded as "Our Solarian Legacy" in 2001) combined current science in many disciplines to develop a "self-learning cosmology" to explain the universe's evolution, including humans. His book "Gods, Genes, & Consciousness" (2004) provides an alternate interpretation of ancient texts to encompass the possibility of nonhuman influences on the history of human development. His book The "The Soul Genome: Science and Reincarnation" (2008) is the first comprehensive scientific analysis of the many areas of empirical evidence that support the concept of reincarnation.

Living in the hills of north Georgia, he also writes articles and lectures in the U.S. and abroad.

What is cosmology? How does it relate to current world events and the human condition? What are the origins of modern institutions? What are the causes of violence and other behaviors destructive to our life support systems? What can we do to realize our true potential? This book, written for the intelligent general reader, answers these and related questions in a direct and surprising manner.

Discovering how religion, science, education and our popular culture are out of line with important new knowledge will change the way you live. The evidence suggests our universe is fundamentally an integral, consciously self-directing organism. Humans are local manifestations of the creative consciousness of the universe, partially responsible for its self-learning and development. Like a good crossword puzzle, the book links knowledge from disparate fields, revealing cause and effect relationships and filling blanks in out-dated academic disciplines.

Paul Von Ward is one of the first writers to reach out to the collective minds of lightworkers. Being a voice in the midst of much confusion, his book is hugely mind-changing covering everything from an indepth knowledge of Zachariah Sitchin's research to social studies, psychology, scientific (no nonsense) hard science, ...everything. I'm exceedingly nudged to make you aware of this man's deep compassion and concern for our collective awareness of who we are, where we came from, and where he sees us without more comprehension of some of these
issues.

Starting adult life as a Baptist minister, his own evolutionary journey has led him to become a cosmologist. A very bizarre and fascinating journey, he's a man to be taken seriously. His grasp of the various schools of thought, of religion, of spirituality, of future shock, social mores, inculturation, earth changes--on and on and on is nothing short of enlightening. I read a lot! I know a lot. So what did I get out of it? A wholly different and enlightened view of God. He raises questions I honestly had never thought to think of. Not a light book by any means..we are, as he says, and I agree, in the midst of very profound changes, global and galactic and the proof is everywhere. Are we ready?

A scientist to his core, Von Ward does something to the psyche that some how brings forth a broader facet of compassion that is sweet and expansive.

Our Solarian Legacy is an articulate, well-researched, intelligent compilation of new and ancient data. It is presented so that readers may contemplate the probabilities of who we, as humans, really are, how we came to be on Earth, what motivates our behavior towards each other, and why our social order exists. The primary stories of our origins (religious versions/Darwinism) are called into question when held against scientific evidence and recorded histories of many cultures. Von Ward's ability to cut through the rhetoric and peel back the layers of altered or ignored data, reveals true information rather than convenient answers. This book is the doorway to the New Story of who we are. It's up to us to cross the threshold.
