I believe the book states the stories are taken from interviews with other women. Of course the author used her own words. The author told a story based on the facts that these people must have told her! This is a very sensitive subject and for someone like Daisy Mae to try to slam this book which is trying to help women now that is just wrong! I think that Daisy Mae is a author who hasn't been able to make book sales of her own. I read the book and was very pleased with it. I work in a domestic abuse shelter and found these stories to be very real and believable. I deal with women in crisis situations every day and for me this book really hits the mark. Daisy Mae seems to have a problem with a lot of other authors too! I for one recommend this book to our volunteers, the many women who walk through our doors every day and all of our full and part time employees. I am a real person not the author of this book although I would love to take credit for writing this book! This is my first review as may be the case with the other reviewers. I recommend this book to everyone and it does open your eyes to the situation. It also helps the people who aren't involved in this situation to understand what these women are going through. Daisy Mae why don't you try to write a book? I know that I could never write a book as good as this one and I know that Daisy Mae couldn't!

My attention was drawn and held by these stories. I felt as though I were right there with these women. I have emailed the author (at the back of her book an email address is provided) and I was told that a new book is to be released later this year or early next year. The next book also has our stories and some from other family members, (the kids). I CAN'T WAIT TO READ THE NEXT ONE!!!!!!!!

Very helpful book. Especially liked the email address at the end to contact author, well, email is forwarded to the author. I found it very enlightening and do not agree with Daisy Mae, I found the stories to be very believable and I thought it was very informative and well written. Buyer beware of enjoying this book.

This book I ordered directly from the publisher and was very pleased with it! I found it very informative. I never realized how things could get that bad in these households.

The stories kept me spellbound. I read the entire book in one day, I couldn't put it down! I cried along with the women and their families!!

I enjoyed the stories tremendously. My sister was in an abusive relationship and after reading this book I find that I can better understand what she went through!

I liked this book very much. I am a social worker and found it very helpful for me to get a better understanding of this situation. I will also apply some of these stories to the people that I deal with. I am going to buy another copy for the office so that we can add this to our lending library!!
