Robert Drewes works have a dreamy quality suffusing history and stark realities with often absurd , surreal elements which lend them a poetic, lycrical quality. 'Our sunshine' is the story of Australian Bush Ranger Ned Kelly , told as never before. At once sympathetic and insightful , Kelley is a reluctant 'hero', larger than life and yet humbled , brought to love and disaster by the grinding wheel of fate and the harshness of colonial Australia. If you enjoy evocative , visual and just plain beautiful writing you must read 'Our Sunshine'. |
