“Perhaps some would be perplexed at the need for yet another ‘pretty’ picture book with the Alamo adorning its cover and its contents extolling the grandeur of the great state of Texas. Even as a native enthusiast eager to see Texas universally recognized as a former nation, I was not convinced of the book’s necessity. As I slowly absorbed the visual cornucopia by some of America’s best photographers, I changed my mind.
