It's a crime that these guys are unknown in the USA,

But you can find out for yourself how good they are thanks to this CD.Deacon Blue is a blend of influences and sounds from the late 80s. Their songs are original, but you'll be asking yourself, "why is this familiar?" The reason is this: you'll hear traces of Van Morrison, John Waite, Bill Medley, Bruce Springsteen, even U2. Much of it has a pinch of R&B to it as well. Ricky Ross, the lead singer, has a powerful, expressive voice - add to that the powerful, almost etheral harmonizing of Lorraine MacIntosh (sp), and you have yourself quite a package.

FANTASTIC POP/ROCK,

This review is from: Our Town - Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
Hailing from glasgow, scotland deacon blue became massive in the uk from 1988 to 94, having a string of hits and a couple of no 1s they were constantly in the charts, and to this day can still be heard on the radio. 'our town' is a perfect start for newcomers and those who want more should check out there debut 'raintown' and also there second album 'when the world knows your name'. if you love great pop/rock music and havent yet heard the fantastic harmony's of ricky ross and loraine mcintosh 'buy now' and be prepared to be pleasantly surprised, and then fall in love?

What country, nay What planet have I been living on that doesn't embrace this band with open arms? I have not been so moved by a group since I first heard The Blue Nile in the late 80s. Somehow all these years I've missed the joy that is Deacon Blue. Many sincere thanks go out to Danny and Nick (you know who you are) for introducing me to this band. And to Deacon Blue -- thank you and please, please make us some more . . .
