The Eric McFadden Experience is busy exploring the carnival-ey darkness that Tom Waits only touches upon--and they do a commanding job with EVERY SINGLE SONG. Our Revels Are Now Ended is something straight out of Katherine Dunn's Geek Love, but much more vivid and appealing. I don't usually write reviews, but this album is worth it!

Sonically beautiful. Mesmerizing and hypnotic. Far out!, August 20, 1999

This is the best album yet from Eric McFadden and Co. Eric is recognized as possibly the finest guitarist in the Bay Area for good reason. The songs on this disk range from insane clown music (Sicko's Bed and Breakfast) to dark and beautiful (If all is lost, the Nothing Song) to manic (Freaks Like Us) to just plain excellent (all of it) and it is all done by world class musicians, comfortable in their positions on this sophmore offering. Definitely my favorite album of 1999 and my friends say I am extremely picky about music.

The dark yet romantic soundscape on this record has a suprisingly lifting quality to it....even my Dad likes it. The carnival-like atmosphere takes me on a dreamlike journey to a dark yet comfortable place. I want more! -Robin

Are you sick of the pablum you are being fed? If not go get the new Ricky Martin cd and see ya! If you want to hear what's going to happen with your musical future, (a future of smart and brazen folk punk), then you should get this album, turn off your stupid box and give it a good listen.
