Rottman does it again with a YA novel that is highly accessible and attractive to teen readers. Hard to put down, Out of the Blue takes the reader on a journey that explores the challenges of base life for the children of active military parents. Rottman blends the transient military lifestyle layered with patriotic tradition to create a unique setting for the teen protagonist, Stu, who must make some tough choices when the military's needs are put above those of his family.
