5.0 out of 5 stars Great Read!!!
I don't know what book the one star reviewer read but it couldn't have been OUT OF BODY, unless she got a different version from the one I bought. 3.0 out of 5 stars Sometimes people end up seeing things they never should have...
Marley Millet and her entire family are each gifted with a different ability. As for Marley, she can 'travel' to different places and glimpse things that she would rather not see. In this case, she's been witnessing the deaths of local New Orleans jazz singers. She can't very well go to the cops, and tell them what she has seen without looking like a crazy person...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Read!!!, February 28, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Out of Body (Court of Angels, Book 1) (Mass Market Paperback)
I don't know what book the one star reviewer read but it couldn't have been OUT OF BODY, unless she got a different version from the one I bought. This is a wonderfully creepy, unusual paranormal book with relationships you love and amazing characters, both good and bad. I only stopped reading to eat and that was a nuisance to me. The Millet family of New Orleans was chased out of Belgium on charges of witchcraft. That was three hundred years ago and they've been fighting to survive ever since. Now a group of beings from under the earth are trying to wipe them out and wipe out New Orleans in the process. Everything about this book is starp and the pages almost turn themselves. Great read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved this book!, February 28, 2010
This review is from: Out of Body (Court of Angels, Book 1) (Mass Market Paperback)
I read every book Stella Cameron writes and I can honestly say 'Out of Body' is one of her best. The characters pull you in and the combination of paranormal protagonists and antagonists plus the very sensual and hot romance is first rate. I dare anyone to try and put this book down once they have started. Books 2 and 3 in this series, due in April and May respectively, are already on my wish list. I can hardly wait.

5.0 out of 5 stars terrific paranormal romantic suspense, March 5, 2010
This review is from: Out of Body (Court of Angels, Book 1) (Mass Market Paperback)
Marley Millet is a psychic just like generations of her family before her. Lately she has suffered from a horrific nightmare; the underworld Embran torturing young women. Marley knows the Embran loathes her for what her ancestors did to the loathsome beast.

In New Orleans fearing for women, Marley visits NOPD Detective Archer who treats her like she is a crazy lady though much of her rumbling proves true. Meanwhile the Ushers inside her head mock her failure. Only reporter Gray Fisher, a retired cop, who talked with several of the surviving torture victims, believes her. As Gray and Marley team up to prevent the Embran from harming anyone else, they fall in love, which stimulates his previously unknown psychic skills.

This is a terrific paranormal romantic suspense starring a wonderful heroine, her distracting dog Willow and a former cop who finds her amusing and attractive as the colorful sparks they make confuse him and surprise her. The cast is fully developed to include the predator from beyond. Fans will enjoy this exciting fast-paced thriller as the crazy lady, Willow and her beloved reporter battle a nasty underworld serial killer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved this book!, February 28, 2010
This review is from: Out of Body (Court of Angels, Book 1) (Mass Market Paperback)
Picked up this book and could not put it down until I finished it (at 3:00 AM!) Loved the layered characters, felt the heat between them as well as in the steamy New Orleans setting. I thought the twists and details of the paranormal elements were original, and I loved the eccentric (but not extreme) family members and friends. Compulsively readable and I can hardly wait for the upcoming books in the trilogy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Stellar, March 27, 2010
This review is from: Out of Body (Court of Angels, Book 1) (Mass Market Paperback)
It is refreshing to see that not all paranormal books must be about vampires and wolves. This was more of a mystical thriller that keeps you guessing as to what will happen to the missing women of New Orleans. You can almost feel the mystery developing under the humid nights of the French Quarter. The Millet's paranormal abilities will need to be used fully against the evil Embran and you are enveloped in trying to unlock the crimes along with the main characters. A quiet evening at home with this book will have you turning the pages and turning your phone on silent!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow!!! I was hooked from page 1!, March 1, 2010
This review is from: Out of Body (Court of Angels, Book 1) (Mass Market Paperback)
And after page 1, it just got better and better. I have so little time to read these days (always busy doing my own writing) that it takes a lot to bowl me over, but Stella Cameron succeeded in a big way. I've been a fan of hers for years, and this is why!
In a sea of paranormals, OUT OF BODY is wonderfully original. Characters, both endearing and frightening, reel you in immediately with their complex, fascinating relationships. The romance is *sizzling hot*, and the plot is a real page turner. It's everything I love in a book!
No one does New Orleans like Stella C, and I can hardly wait to return with the 2nd and 3rd books, due out soon. Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars entertaining, March 6, 2010
This review is from: Out of Body (Court of Angels, Book 1) (Mass Market Paperback)
If you are a fan of the paranormal and mystery, this book was entertaining. The hints through out lead you toward the villian's identity, but the twist at the finale was interesting. I wonder if the villian will continue or if the future will bring a new super natural enemy.

I just finished this book and I'm so excited to read the rest of the series. Cameron has done an excellent job of creating a world in which just about anything is possible: bad creatures, hereditary psychic gifts, and destined soul mates. I'll be lining up to read the rest of the books in this series, for sure!

I'm a paranormal fan. Give me vampires and shapeshifters and I'm a happy reader. Stella Cameron's first paranormal book is different from any other I've read and in a nice way. It has every element I'm looking for. I love the characters and the story, and I enjoy the psychic stuff. This is the perfect book for the paranormal reader.

5.0 out of 5 stars Now I can't wait for the next one in the series!, March 2, 2010

I read OUT OF BODY by the pool on vacation, and I just loved it. Gripping, intense, charming and engaging -- I especially liked Marley, who has both guts and heart, as well as her hands full with Gray, other-worldy goings-on and her family. Now I can't wait for OUT OF MIND and OUT OF SIGHT.
