5.0 out of 5 stars Best Go Fish album ever! Total, pure acappella., April 1, 2003
By
Janelle Conway (MN- where Go Fish is based) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Out of Breath (Audio CD)
Here's your chance to hear the best of Go Fish's acappella! Out of Breath is their first CD, with the purest and most beautiful "acappella with an attitude" you can imagine. It starts with a song "Fishers of Men"... taken from the same Bible verse that Go Fish derived its name from, Mark 1:17 "'Come,' Jesus said, 'and I will make you fishers of men.'" This album includes the original version of Go Fish's most popular song, "You're My Little Girl," and Go Fish's theme song-appropriately titled-"Go Fish." Also on this album you'll find "That Acappella Sound"... a song great for its audience interaction when sung at a live concert. There's also "What Mary Didn't Know"- a song with a powerful message about the importance of witnessing- "The Eagle Song"- a beautiful, contemplative melody- "The Love"- a catchy tune with a clear cut message- and "Twinkling of An Eye"- a song that stresses the importance of making the decision to follow Jesus. "I Can Live With That" is an upbeat, fun song which humorously shows that relationships are more important than circumstances, while "Be That Way" serves as encouragement for the person who is scared by new and big decisions, and with the prospect of being isolated or misunderstood for their beliefs. "Be That Way" expresses that no matter what happens- big decisions, loneliness or misunderstanding- the most important thing is to focus on God and to want to "be the way that You [God] want me to be." The song "Don't You Know" points people to heaven... telling them not to just look at Christians, because "if I [a Christian] had a dime for everything I did to make You [God] shake Your head, I'd be a wealthy kid. So when people see me fall like I tend to do, I pray they see past me, and somehow look to You." The song stresses that "you've got to look to heaven." Last but certainly not least, Out of Breath contains the beautiful "I Love You Lord" (Go Fish acappella with an attitude style, with additional poignant lyrics by Go Fish founder/writer Jamie Statema) and a studio blooper clip called "Half Step Higher." If you want to hear Go Fish's first, most beautiful music, and acappella at its best, check out "Out of Breath."

5.0 out of 5 stars This is what it's all about, November 2, 2003

This cd shows just what I love about Go Fish. Their harmonies are perfect, their songs are creative, and their acapella perfect! I met these guys when they were just starting out in the midwest in the late 90s and performing at my church, where one of the members fathers was my pastor. Acapella is what they started with, and it's what they do best. If you buy a Go Fish cd, Out of Breath should be the one!

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Out of Breath (Audio CD)
I Love and still love this CD. I bought it when they came to our annual Trunk-or-treat at the fairgrounds that our church holds every year (this was about 5-6 years ago) and I STILL love their music. I am 14 and still love their music. The best part is that our whole family can listen to this while in the car and NO ONE COMPLAINS. also I listen to it everyday when I am doing homework and it relaxing yet at the same time I can get all my work done. It is entertaining and a must have!
