Editorial Reviews

Nightowlreviews: Out of the Darkness is a Top Pick for me. The sensual scenes were hot and the ending was done just right. The villains were chilling and Vincent's history compelling. This was an action packed and exciting read.

Lilly Gayle presents in a detailed, accurate manner a rational paranormal romance. The two main characters in this story jump right off the pages and engage the reader.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Summer Read July 3, 2010
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
A friend of mine recommended this book to me as a great book for the beach or a summer getaway. This is the first book of fiction that I have read in years and I found it quite enjoyable and a pleasant alternative to my typical non-fiction works. Out of the Darkness was a nice blend of science, seduction, and suspense with an ironic twist at the end. I highly recommend this to others.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hot Vampire Romance Novel April 14, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Do you remember Dr. Julia Hoffman's efforts to perfect a serum to change Barnabus Collins back into a human in "Dark Shadows"? If you loved that story line, you're going to adore Lilly Gayle's sensual vampire romance, "Out of the Darkness".

In "Out of the Darkness", Dr. Megan Harper initially thinks that the handsome Vincent Maxwell is suffering from a rare genetic disorder that makes him sensitive to the light. She's working on a cure for the problem as it's the same disease her sister suffered from. The medical details are spot-on, and it's obvious that the author has some medical background which lends a terrific sense of reality to this paranormal romance.

As Megan tries to cure Vincent, they're swept up in a conflict with a secret organization that has decided vampires would be very useful to them for their own purposes. I don't want to give too much away, but for fans of paranormal romances who like their stories hot and sensual, this is definitely for you. Gayle keeps throwing new plot curves at the reader and there is plenty of action and suspense. There is a twist at the end that will surprise even the most astute reader.

You won't be disappointed in this mystery-filled, faced-paced romance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Read June 29, 2010
Dr. Megan Harper finds herself caught up in the mystery and strange events of modern-day vampirism, just as Dr. Julia Hoffman, portrayed by Grayson Hall, discovered Barnabas Collins curse and attempted to cure him, but instead fell in love with him in the popular television supernatural drama, Dark Shadows that ran from 1966 to 1971. Barnabas, played by Johnathan Frid, portrayed a mysterious romantic vampire in a dark, swirling cape.
In Lily Gayle's modern day paranormal romance, OUT OF THE DARKNESS, Vincent Maxwell is a vampire who wants to be human again and discovers that Dr. Megan Harper has discovered a possible cure to vampirism, so he worms his way into her research and into her heart as well. Can a vampire and a mortal find a way to blend their lives and in the process find happiness together?
The plot turns, the familiar settings and the sexual scenes between Megan and Vincent were a fantastic, a can't put down read and the surprising ending was superb with supporting characters such as a compelling vixon (Sonia), and a best friend (Tina). Of course, as an added attraction there were very chilling villains.
OUT OF THE DARKNESS is Lilly Gayle's first novel, but I'm sure there will be many more entertaining novels in the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars Out of the Darkness review September 22, 2011
Dr. Megan Harper is working on an antidote to a genetic disorder that forced her sister to live her life away from sunlight. She believes the mysterious owner of Lifeblood, Vincent Maxwell, who suffers the same symptoms, is the perfect candidate to help her find the cure. Until she realizes he suffers from something much darker.

Lilly Gayle spins an intriguing web of science, romance and redemption--all wrapped in a deliciously sensual bow. This isn't your grandma's vampire romance.
