5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent start towards healing!!!, December 19, 2006
This review is from: Out of Egypt (Paperback)
If you are struggling with homosexual tendencies and wish to break free, seeking restoration from sexual broken-ness, this book is a powerful way to start your journey! It will open you up not only to see, but to confront everything you have experienced in your life, from childhood until now. It will cause you to search into the depths of your soul, recognizing your reactions and attitudes that have formed as a result of those experiences, and realizing its formative power in shaping you into who you now believe you are. And if you now believe you are a lesbian, the hope of this book is to show you that you don't have to be!! You were never meant to be! The feelings and attractions you have are NOT intrinsic and unchangeable as the world would lead you to believe! It has to do with a breakdown in your own identity as a woman, feelings of inadequacy and/or longings for what you do not believe you possess yourself, maybe longings for an emotional connection you never experienced, and/or a safe haven from a danger you feel towards men. But whatever it is, THERE IS HOPE!!!

In reading this book, I have had many revelations about my own struggle and many beautiful moments of realization that have contributed to an inward igniting of incredible soul healing! I have come to understand all that I was created to be as a woman and have drawn closer TO my Creator, experiencing an integration and wholeness never known before!! I honestly feel like a new woman already!!! And truly, the healing will not and should not stop with this book. But I definitely recommend it for those who wish to step onto that road.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Look into seeing one person's story of her battle w/ Lesbianism, May 14, 2006

This has been a wonderful look at some of the issues involved with stepping out of lesbianism. Interspearsing some of her own life, she also counselors several women through issues they encounter as they proceed in their journey out of lesbianism. I feel like I'm right there in the counseling room with them, watching and overhearing them. Very helpful, insightful and lots of food for thought.

A very enlightening book that seeks to go beyond the superficial in finding out what turns women to lesbianism. A really good read- Highly recommended for a lay person who wants to know some of the issues surrounding lesbianism and for those who want to work through the issues that lead to it!

5.0 out of 5 stars READ this book!!!, October 1, 2009

As a parent of a twenty year old young woman who recently confessed about her struggle with same sex attraction this book is a must read. It broke our hearts to hear our daughter tell us about her struggle. We were confused, shocked and scared. I got this book in the mail and read it in one evening. It helped me to understand the probable causes of SSA and that there is absolute hope for those who want to break free of that lifestyle. As a Christian I know this is not in God's plan and design for us. To see your child struggle with this is gut wrenching but do not give up or in because there is hope. If you need facts , hope and encouragement read this book. It is a wonderful resource.

1.0 out of 5 stars Queen in Christ and Loved as a Lesbian, March 30, 2010

This review is from: Out of Egypt (Paperback)
I understand the reviews already written.

Still it triggered me to write something myself... the stories written I know and understand since I know the point(s) of views they were written from.

Myself? I also see identity above sexuality.

My identity is in Christ and did not change when I realized I'm a lesbian. The biggest shock perhaps has been the enormous Love God kept on showing me.

I would encourage everyone to not be satisfied with 'just' one answer.

It's important, I think, to separate main from side issues. Main issue: Jesus = the Way, the Truth and the Life.

Main commandment: love your neighbor as you self and God above all else.

After that all other things come... also this 'issue' of homosexuality. Apart from the fact that I think this subject = getting unbalanced amount of attention and condemnation... Maybe what God tells one does not apply to another? Daring thoughts but we should start trusting Him for Who He is I think.

Let's all learn not to condemn... "but when..." no, never to condemn.

We cannot possibly see in someone elses life and know what God really thinks about things. He = God and we are not.

So yes, I love my girlfriend and I do with all my heart and I have left behind me all the hurt, condemnation, hostility, anger, fear and other forms of lack of love I met in church and christians. Does that mean I'm now a bitter lesbian woman who has left the narrow path and turned her back @ God?

... no...

not in the least.

I wish you all abundant Love and that it may multiply as you spread and live it and receive it from our Father.
