If you're interested in doing beadwork on a loom, here's a place to start.

3.0 out of 5 stars Visual Patterns Only
The book contains beautiful designs; word patterns and charts are not available, according to Ms. Deeb. I had hoped for more instructional material. I would not recommend for someone who has the basics, is ready to move on and learns by reading when learning a new skill.

If you're interested in doing beadwork on a loom, here's a place to start.

It has quick and simple instructions for looming mini-tapestries, bracelets, and split loom necklaces. But that's not the beauty of this lovely book, the patterns are. From the simple Stars & Swirls Forever bracelet to the Tranquility tapestry with its gathered thread work, you can then tackle the Floral Fantasy and Owl Flight split loom necklaces. All colors are given with the Delica color number and approximate grams needed.

This is a beautiful book of patterns with full-color pictures of each finished project. I would suggest this one for a beader with some experience in looming.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great starter book, December 26, 2005
This review is from: Out On A Loom : Instructions and 15 Patterns for Loom Bead Weaving (Paperback)
I bought this book based on a mention in a beading magazine. The patterns are very beautiful and the instructions are clear. It's a good buy for someone starting to loom (like me).

There is something for everyone in this book. If you just want to look at the pictures, it is interesting, and has information on how to finish the projects. I was not disappointed!

5.0 out of 5 stars Mool, June 21, 2008

When I first got the book I was doubtful because it was so slim. I'm VERY happy I got it. The first 9 pages are a wealth of looming infomation on how to: increase, decrease the warp and weft and last but not least on how to tye-off the warp threads.

Most books tell you to just tape them behind the pieces and mount on cloth--screw that, it looks like crap! The author explains how to weave into the piece and hide the warp threads or make fringe out of them.

It also has a small section on how to add large beads into the middle of a loomed pieces and add decorative edging.

I would say this book is great for beginners as well as intermediate users. For simple patterns for new loomers it's easy to google some free loom patterns if you want to start off with something easy and small as this book has a lot of patterns that are huge and you're Bead Loom Starter Kit- won't be a big enough loom to do them.

If you live next to a Lowe's you can build your own bigger loom to accomodate this book or buy one for $20-$30.

This review is from: Out On A Loom : Instructions and 15 Patterns for Loom Bead Weaving (Paperback)
This is a good book. It has several patterns for doing beading on a Loom. Mostly large projects. Good instructions for how to do loom work, but not a lot of instruction for each individual design. Over all I thought it was expensive for what the book is.

Being new to bead weaving I found the off loom tutorial invaluable, step by step pictures and instructions were easy to follow and along with the patterns provided this made my journey into this aspect of seed beading a great adventure.
