Empirical's smart post-bop style has drawn admiring notices on both sides of the Atlantic. Their debut recording went on to be voted Jazzwise magazine's album of the year, and Mojo magazine's jazz album of the year. 4.0 out of 5 stars Suprisingly good jazz from the UK March 5, 2010

Format:MP3 Music
I heard these guys being interviewed on NPR and on a lark bought the album. I have to say, these dudes can lay it down. This a nice modern jazz offering. While they explore free jazz, there's enough structure to make it accessible. I especially enjoyed the vibes on this. Bass playing was excellent.. sultry clarinet, all good. If you're a Jazz fan this is a very good offering.
