If you are just getting into Chet Baker, for goodness sake, DO NOT START HERE!! The sound-quality of this release is horrendous, worse than you might expect even from a bootleg. The band backing him up is competent but frankly uninteresting. There is very little in the way of vocals, just trumpet solos. Baker's wonderful phrasing and note-choices shine as usual (elevating this to a two-star review), but his famous, dryly expressive tone is badly warped by the inferior recording quality. Several of these solos are available in this book:
The Chet Baker Collection (Artist Transcriptions) which is useful for anyone studying Baker's improvisation style in-depth. That's just about the only reason to purchase this lame product.
