Excellent CD! Vinnie's best!,

I think this is Vinie Moore's BEST CD, all tracks really shine on their own. The other reviewer mentioned he liked the newer release "The Maze" more than this one, I have to disagree. I liked Vinnie in his "Neo-Classical" days, and I sure wish he would have just stuck to the just plain "Rock-N-Roll" he showcased on this CD. He is an outstanding artist either way, but this is by far my favorite CD of his. I think the track "Losing Faith" is one of the greatest instrumental guitar songs I have ever heard. It sends shivers up my spine!!! Anyway, if you like rock guitar instrumentals, you'll HAVE TO GET THIS!!!

Vinnie Moore is a true artist. He plays with such feeling and clarity, each note played and placed with care. It is a pleasure to listen to a player of his caliber. Vinnie is a guitar hero of the highest order.

Awesome album by an amazing shredder,

Man this album rocks...the only reason I don't give this 5 stars is because he has now eclipsed all of his pat work with the recent The maze album...still this is very hard rock oriented, with distinct blues, rockabilly, and southern tinged rock influences...And oh man does VinMans Brew rock....

First of all, yes I was a detractor of Vinnie Moore (ignorantly) and also felt shred guitar was becoming a waste of time with every new release. I am into chops and all that, but not into shred just for the sake of it, you know what I mean? However, somehow this album has changed my mind.
I remembered Vinnie Moore from his first couple of releases, which sounded too much like Yngwie to my ears. Ok, Vinnie argued he had no intention of copying Yngwie and everything, but back then I just said "c'mon!" and moved forward to something else. Who needed just another Yngwie Malmsteen clone after all? But recently I saw Vinnie playing with UFO and was blown away by his skills in the context of a band -- and what a band! I don't think too many guitar players will fill in the shoes of Michael Schenker and then surpass the master, but this was absolutely the case with Vinnie, really. The man demonstrated he has evolved from every point of view. Nowadays we are listening to a seasoned player who shreds with taste and finesse, but most importantly, with authenticity. I went therefore for something newer and fresher from Vinnie Moore -- I just had to listen to some of his more recent stuff! Thus I got this "Out Of Nowhere", which witnesses all what I said before: the man is no longer a clone of anyone, but just as good as it gets on his own. What a great musicality! Of course, his chops are still up there with the best shredders in the business, but now I am facing a more mature, melodically aware, spontaneous, tasteful and funkier rocker, serving with his virtuosity some greatly composed (and of course played!) pieces of music. The opener "With the flow", the spicy "Thunderball" and the bluesy and deep "Time Traveller" are perhaps my favorite tracks here, but there's no let down in this album -- I also love the country/Satch-flavored "VinMan's Brew" and the wonderful "770 Days": talk both about chops and taste! Vinnie's playing is simply perfect all along this release: aggressive, melodic, rhythmically interesting and sonically amazing -- he's got some awesome tone as well! In few words, if you thought no shred album deserved your attention this one could be your medicine. And well, if you are into rock guitar and like melodically interesting virtuoso instrumentals, this is absolutely what you are begging to listen to -- and perhaps your girlfriend too! ;-) That's why I give five well-earned stars to "Out Of Nowhere". It has become one of my preferred shred albums ever... out of nowhere! :-) So, from now on I swear I will speak positively about Vinnie Moore, who is definitively one of the greatest metal guitarists of all times. Thank you for the music, Vinnie!

I really enjoyed this album from Vinnie. Extremely melodic and very bluesy. This CD contains some of the most emotionally compelling guitar playing I have ever heard. I'd give it 6 stars if I could.

Went to the record store day and was going to buy "To the Core" and I did, so I thought.
When I got home and uploaded the cd to my pc, It was this album. SO, I kept this one even though it has the wrong label and sleeve. Vinnie is awesome and I really like this album. On 'To the Core".

I just saw Vinnie last night with UFO on the Monkey Puzzle tour had 1st row right in front of my all time favorite guitarist and this album shows why. It's a big change from all his earlier CDs that were kind of in the shredding style a bit, this CD Out Of Nowhere shows Vinnie's versatility by his playing straight out hard rock, blues, shred, and fusion. This is MY personal favorite Vinnie CD(have them all)and if you pay attention to UFO's You Are Here 3-4 cuts were taken straight from this album with Phil Mogg just adding vocals.Vinnie shines here and forever in my world.A MUST have for any guitar fan.
