One of the all-time best!,
By Mark Twain "Gillian" (New York) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Out of Our Kitchen Closets: San Francisco Gay Jewish Cooking (Paperback)
Although neither Jewish nor gay, this is one of my all-time favorite cookbooks. It is very warmly and tastefully done; the only references to gay are the title, and references to "my partner" liking some dish. It is comprised of treasured family recipes and/or those perfected over the years, and each is preceded by a brief description of why it is so special. Everything I've tried from this book has been wonderful -- and I always enjoy reading it. A great favorite, and highly recommended.

Wonderful! Warmly written with tried-and-true recipes,
By A Customer
This review is from: Out of Our Kitchen Closets: San Francisco Gay Jewish Cooking (Paperback)
Despite being neither gay nor Jewish, I loved this cookbook. It is very warmly written, with the contributors's personal memories of where they got the recipes (usually from parents or grandparents), when they've prepared them, et cetera. All are tried-and-true, and those I've tried have been excellent.
