From Out of The Past is an excellent book. In conversation with the author, Dave Holland, aand a couple of readings, I have gained much insight into the Masked Man, and his mysterious origins. The book focusses on the early days of radio-from the seminal concept of the Ranger, to the subsequent success in TV, Radio, Books, Comics, and Movies. Profiles of the actors who brought the Ranger to life are included. An overview up to the mid 1980's is included with an episode guide. If you like the Lone Ranger-buy this book, you'll be glad you did.

With the 75th anniversary coming up of the Lone Ranger there should be renewed interest in this out of print book chronicaling the Lone Ranger from radio, to books and comic strips, to movie serials, to TV and finally to feature movies. Obviously a work of love by the author who presents so much material that it takes days to get through it all. The definitive book of the development of the character. And I'm old enugh to recall listening to the Lone Ranger on the radio before my familiy had a TV and I ever saw him portrayed by either Clayton Moore or John Hart in that iconic TV series. Lots of pctures and commentary throughout.
