Best of the series, November 20, 2001

This review is from: Out of Sight: A Denise Cleever Thriller (Denise Cleever Thrillers) (Paperback)
This latest installment in Claire McNab's series featuring Intelligence Agent Denise Cleever is the best of the three books featuring this character. Cleever goes undercover to infiltrate an organization that trains terrorists in the wilds of Australia. The action is well paced and the characters are interesting. Things become complicated when Cleever finds herself falling for one of the instructors at the camp. Add to that the fact that she's being hunted by a madman who thinks she is the sister he has vowed to kill. There's plenty in this book to keep your attention. The only weakness is that the ending seems rushed compared to the rest of the book. The last couple of chapters read almost like the notes for the story instead of finished chapters. It's still a good book.

Third in Series is Flawed, March 11, 2002
This review is from: Out of Sight: A Denise Cleever Thriller (Denise Cleever Thrillers) (Paperback)
Denise is undercover again - this time infiltrating a terrorist group that has, thus far, avoided being infiltrated. To add an additional threat to her life, the woman whose identity she has assumed has a brother who escapes custody at a mental hospital for the criminally insane to kill his sister. I really enjoyed the first two entries in McNab's new series. But this outing seemed . . . well, less. It wasn't bad by any stretch of the imagination, but it was bordering on tedious in some places and seemed contrived in others. This book didn't move as fast as the others, but it was, nevertheless, a good read. Certainly if you enjoyed the first two, you'll undoubtedly like this one as well.
