I only recently starting watching PLL recently. I started with Seasons 1 and 2 on Netflix and was sucked in enough to purchase the first 10 episodes of Season 3 on Amazon Instant so that I could catch up to the current season.

Critiques that this show are far-fetched and that the acting is occasionally sub-par are accurate, but the twists, turns, and camp are what make this show so fun to watch.

The four main characters, despite being the title "liars," each have their own set of flaws that make them loveable and while at first the audience wonders "why are these girls even friends?" soon enough the friendship among them seems genuine and you are on their side as they try to figure out who murdered their best friend and who the mysterious "A" is.

Ordering this with the TV pass a great idea. I was able to purchase all the early episodes of Season 3 for a reasonable price and then cancel it when I was caught up enough to watch the new episodes currently airing on television.

I'm a 30-something professional woman whose entertainment tastes lean more torwards the Criterion collection than Gossip Girl and yet I am absolutely addicted to Pretty Little Liars. This is a show that is run by people who know what they're doing. They know how to play up camp sensibilities and soap opera melodrama while actually crafting an twisty-turny murder/stalker mystery. Yes, it's a cheesy soap opera at times, but it includes some of the best background literary allusions I've seen on a teen show. They hit you over the head with To Kill a Mockingbird in the first season, but The Great Gatsby, Emily Dickinson, Nabokov and Hedda Gabbler all come into play by the third season.

If you watched the first few episodes of the first season and didn't like the show, I seriously urge you to continue watching. Somewhere around the homecoming dance episode in the first season the show takes off like a gunshot and keeps getting better and better. The actors improve greatly and the writing gets a lot tighter. The first Halloween special (season 2)is definitely something to see.

I love this program! I think it's awesome. The plot is captivating enough for adults. The series has a "spooky" feel to it. But, even if you don't like scary things you will probably still like the show...a lot!
