SFA-AOK, June 16, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Out Spaced (Audio CD)
Outspaced is a fantastic collection of SFA rarities and B sides. A must for the collector. Contained within is a hard to find track, The Man Don't Give a F***. Also included form their Ice Hocky Hair EP is the track Smokin. All of outspaced tracks were recorded during the periods of their first two albums. This album is a must for SFA fans-but not the album to get if you want to try the super furries on for size.

Better than most people's A-sides by a long shot!, July 23, 2001
This review is from: Out Spaced (Audio CD)
This is a great collection of rare singles and b-sides from the best, most inventive band on the planet! One only needs to look at their solid body of work to see the high marks this band truely deserves. Outspaced is a wonderful disc full of non-filler tunes that just cried to be released as a collection. This disc should be bought simply to get the amazing, "The Man Don't Give A F***" and Smokin. It also should be noted that the limited edition version of this is awesome, with it's rubber-ized jewel-case, it's well worth the hunt if your up for it. Again, the quality and diversity of the music is so choice, I can hardly stand it. The all welsh-spoken numbers go over like a honey flowing waterfall - smooth and sweet. This record further exposes the amazing talents that are The Super Furry Animals.

Frenzied hybrid pop joy., November 19, 2001
This review is from: Out Spaced (Audio CD)
Like the younger, scruffier brothers of Blur, Super Furry Animals break into the pottery of pop, vandalise the vessels marked 'rock' (50s Elvis-style rock'n'roll; early 60s jangle pop; late 60s Beatles/Beach Boys experimentation; psychedelia; folk,; Who/Hendrix power pop; Velvets violence; glam rock; pomp rock; prog rock; punk; New Wave; New romantic; Metal; indie; Jesus and Mary Chain fuzzpop; Pixies-like psychorock; industrial noise; New Yawk art rock; Stereolab drone pop etc.), take the smashed pices home, construct all kinds of new and strange shapes, paint them with the dramatic colour of 60s film soundtracks, sign them with some Welsh capriciousness, and exhibit them in a jumble under a loose sci-fi theme. the results are as fantastically ugly (this compilation of B-sides and rareties begins with the legendary, expletives-ridden stomp of 'The M** Don't G*** a F***', and ends with five minutes of sheer noise, the sound of someone playing Space Invaders behind large factory machinery) as they are unexpectedly beautiful (the Style Council soul of 'Don't be a fool, Billy'; the New Wave pathology of 'Guacomole'). No one like them on earth.
