More About the Author

Andree Aelion Brooks has spent most of her career as a journalist, covering personal finance, psychology, education and the women's movement, among other topics. In the early 1990's she transferred her skills to writing history, specifically those areas of Jewish history that are not normally covered, such as stories from Mediterranean countries, the Caribbean, Renaissance Italy and the Jewish involvement in the Bolshevik Revolution.
Her work has won countless awards.
She is popular on the speaker circuit for her story telling, humor and insights, both with adults and also children. She is considered entertaining as well as informative.
Brooks is an Associate Fellow, Yale University, and a former contributing columnist for the New York Times. She also writes occasional and often humorous columns for the Wall Street Journal on issues of aging.
