High Energy Musical Fun for Babies and Adults!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Out of This World (Audio CD)
This CD was my toddler's introduction to alternative groups like XTC and They Might Be Giants. It is high energy (great for dancing my I'd-rather-die-before-being-rocked-to-sleep-with-a-lullabye baby to sleep) and extremely clever. There isn't a bad song on the CD. And yes, it includes Rockapella!

Out of This World music,
This review is from: Out of This World (Audio CD)
This great cd provides an introduction to "alternative" bands such as "They Might Be Giants" with the excellent "Why Does The Sun Shine?" and Greg Lee with his "Brief Disclaimer" - that's worth the price of admission alone. But there's more - more Greg Lee, XTC (with "Cherry in Your Tree") Johnny Nexdoor and His Neighbors, and of course, Rockapella. (How could you have a "Carmen Sandiego" cd without Rockapella?" So buy this cd and enjoy the great music.

Not so nostalgic nostalgia,

I was seven when this cd came out and I can remember it was showcased at my library. Me being a ridiculous Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego (the gameshow) fan, I begged my mom to take it out on her card. I don't regret getting it but i'm sure my mom did as I can still remember jumping around my room to "Half A World Away" (a catchy alternative song that I still remember a lot of the words to more than 10 years later). And a little diddy "The sun is a mass of incandescent gas A gigantic nuclear furnace where hydrogen is built into helium at a temperature of millions of degrees". I remembered that all through my life and even used it during high school. It's a great way for kids to learn as well as expand their musical tastes past Britiney Spears and such. A+!

I was a big fan of Carmen Sandiego. Even being a fan, I never heard any of these songs until I bought this CD. It has unique music on it. The Rockapella song "Big Wet Rag" is funny as well as "Carmen's Song" performed by Greg Lee, the host of the TV show "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?" An interesting CD, but the soundtrack is better.
