One star for incorrect information. Chris Farlowe is the best, and this CD is great BUT---
This is a single CD (as mentioned in the info "number of discs"). It is NOT the 2 CD version with 49 songs as shown in the above Amazon track listing. This one has 16 tracks: Out Of Time Handbags And Gladrags In The Midnight Hour Mr. Pitiful I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself Think North, South, East, West Cuttin' In Open The Door To Your Heart Treat Her Good What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted Paint It Black Ride On Baby Don't Play That Song (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction Baby Make It Soon

I have no idea why Chris Farlowe isn't more popular than he is. One of the few singers who can literally make the make the hairs stand up on the back of my neck. His version of`paint it black (in my opinion at least) blows the Rolling Stones out of the water. An album chockful of lots of good stuff. Please listen.

Many people only know farlowe's work from out of time, but he is one of the most under rated RnB singers of the sixties and is still going strong, sounding as good today. I saw him with the Manfreds last year in Southend, Essex, England. For me he was the unexpected jewel in the performance and he had a bad cold, I really want to hear him again live without the cold. Top singer and from what I have seen of him in the sixties, top Mod.

What A Voice!,

I was aware of Chris Farlowe's work in the 1960s to a certain extent, being a huge fan of British "white-eyed soul" Blues. However, it was his interview, commentary, and song interpretation in the "Red, White, and Blues" DVD of "Martin Scorsese Presents the Blues" that absolutely knocked me out. Please remember that it was rather difficult to obtain LPs from overseas without good connections. This, thankfully, is no longer a problem. I would urge fans of British Blues to grab this disc, sit back, and simply enjoy the man's passion.

Very very funny,

Actually this is a good cd for what it is. But Chris Farlowe is ghastly - he oversings on everything, and his "blues" phrasing is offensive. I enjoy listening because he is trying so hard to sound "black" but fails so miserably it's funny.
