I truly enjoyed this book. Through his character, John Campbell, David Lavigne takes a "realistic" look at time travel and the reactions it provokes. The characters' depictions seem more accurate to how intelligent, adaptable humans would deal with the concept and experience of jumping through time than in other books and media. The author's love of history comes through not only in the main plot and events, but in the details as well. What people ate, how they traveled, and all the other specifics about life that no one notices are slid into the narrative so that the reader gets a more complete sense of the world without getting overwhelmed with description. And the true evidence of a great book; I had a very difficult time putting it down.

Just finished Out of Time. Went right away to look for more books from this author.
The story is great, but the editing of the kindle version had lots of errors with a missing word or two in almost every chapter.
If you like a fun story with lots of action and some brain teaser settings, you will love this book.
I love the time travel genre, and this one was terrific.

I wanted to give this book 4 stars, because it was fun and interesting but in honesty there was so much that needed polishing here. i feel almost as if the author was exhausted from the writing and wanted to finish in a hurry because the grammar mistakes increased late in the book.
I think it's sad when there's a good work that simply isn't finished and I'd really encourage the writer and other writers to please have someone edit their books before publishing them. This book had a great deal of potential. It was often funny and easy to read. The characters were interesting if not realistic. There is no question this is a work worth investing the time in to make it a finished product.
I recommend the book to any history and science fiction student. I also recommend the book to writers that are getting started, as an example of a good plot that needs polishing.

This is just a flat-out cool story of time travel.

The venues that the main character experience are rich with detail and excitement. From the American Colonial period through ancient Roman times, each is presented with clarity and detail unlike other books about time travel that I have read.

The story itself is unique in it's explanation of the ability to travel through time by use of a lost and forgotten invention of Nicola Tesla.

I only gave the story a rating of four stars because of it's failure to address the subject of disease vectoring through the various venues. Modern man is mostly immune to many lethal diseases but we are still carriers and would infect non-protected societies if they were exposed. Maybe I'm nit-picking here but my mind immediately went to this scenario as I was reading the book.

All-in-all though a great story.

Where do I begin? The grammar is so poor that it was difficult to understand what this writer was attempting to say. I felt like a was reading an 8th grader's attempt at storytelling. Further, the history is so inaccurate as to be almost laughable. And to even imagine that this writer has any concept of what an archeologist does is far fetched. There is no research here, no story, and the writing is a bastardization of the English language. I've purchased many inexpensive books, but this goes beyond what anyone can reasonably repair in editing; an
editor's disaster. How is this permitted? The writer could not tell the difference between "threw" and "through" "lose" and "loose" "there" and "their" or "they're" and the kicker was the juvenile use of the phrase, "on accident." I can't even finish it, as I feel like I need to break out a red pen. Next time this twelve year old decides to write a book, perhaps he should ask his teacher for assistance.

This was a delightfully fun read. Pay no attention to the person chastising it for its historical inaccuracies. Or for not going in a very specific direction plot-wise. Write your own book if that's what you want. I found Out of Time extremely enjoyable and hope to read more from this promising author.

I loved this book. The characters were engaging, the historical details were interesting, and he used a light touch when it came to violence. I hope he writes a ton more books for me to read.
