Make no bones about it, this is a darn good read. And like many Kindle owners I have read a lot of poorly edited books. Normally, it is just an inconvenience and not a real issue. In this book between the poor editing and the differences in how Americans speak versus how the British speak, it became an even bigger problem. I definitely will read another book by this author, I just really hope he finally has a good editor. It read very much like the editor inserted the revision, without deleting what she/he needed to take out. Many times entire words were obviously missing and others duplicated.
I think you will like the story, but be prepared to be a little frustrated with the editing issues. And if "american" english is your first language, you may have to use your dictionary a time or two to figure what them blokes are saying.

When Detective Inspector Gary Rowntree hires Private Investigator, Dan Bradley to find his missing brother, Dan figures it will be a fast and easy, open and closed case.

Dan and his partner, Eva Roberts visit the missing man’s house. Within minutes Eva knows the case is going to be trouble. In addition to outright evasion and lies Eva finds unopened mail on the floor that tells a completely different story. This is only the beginning.

As the story unfolds we get to find out more about Dan and Eva, their troubled on again, off again relationship and their business partnership. They work great together as a team; as a couple?

The settings an characters are gritty and real, and the plot takes us on an unexpected journey into a world of sex and corruption.

This is a fabulous introduction to a new author, Solomon Carter and to what is sure to become a favorite and ongoing PI series.

Out with a Bang caught my attention from page one and never let it go.
The story of Eva Roberts and Dan Bradley was a fun read. They have been partners for eight years, live together but aren't married and are private investigators. When a police acquaintance asks Dan to search for his missing brother the fun begins.
There is a closeness between Eva and Dan but also a divide between them. Neither could live without each other but they sometimes want to try. When the clues lead these two to a sex party with swingers trust is at stake.
I’m not a spoiler so I’ll stop there. I read this in one sitting on a Sunday night. It was light and it was fun. The pages turned themselves at times and I couldn't wait to find out what happened at the end.
I will be reading more of Solomon Carter.

The basic premise of the story is quite good but I feel it would have benefitted greatly from, (1) The author reading the book sentence by sentence to understand why this is at times more like a "rough draft" than a completed work. There are many sentences which are just a group of words and not complete or literate to my tastes, (2) Editing by a person competent to do so would make for a much smoother flow to the story and reduce some of what I percieve as inconsistencies, (3) Eliminating the many redundancies of word usage and minutae which add nothing but length to the story. For example, you don't have to keep reminding the reader that the name of the automobile is "Crossfire" and commenting on it's looks or that the pistol is tiny and cheaply made and therefore unreliable and so on. I liked the story, just take some time and polish it up a bit. I definitely want to credit the author for telling a story on a tawdry subject without making constant used of vulgar expressions...that shows class to me.

I am a person of few words. This rating/judgment system requires 20 words as a minimum. So,I guess this post is now an acceptable length. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to reading others in this series. Well done!

Action packed story with some top shocks along the way. Love nasty Anna Eavis! By far the sexiest character I have found in a long time. Great story, looking forward to the next installment.

The typos in this book make reading a bit difficult as does the plot. Too much of the action just doesn't seem to fit. The "professionals" don't act very professional most of the time, and the story doesn't end well.
