I liked this book, but I didn't love it. It dealt with real life serious issues, but lacked focus. The author was trying to tell to much story in too little time.We had the heroine whom the hero had just rescued from an abusive relationship. We had the hero who had been in love with said heroine for half his life, but hadn't seen her in years. He finds out she's probably being abused and he goes to her house, gets her out, gets her to safety. From there instead of focusing on the heroine's healing process, because no matter how strong a woman is, years of abuse is not relieved in a manner of weeks, the focus was on the friendships of the three men within the trilogy. I felt this story could have been great, instead it was just average.

Love Emma Darcy!,

I have found Emma Darcy's books worth the time to read and reread. This one is no exception. While this one can be read alone, it is better to read it in sequence with the other two of the series. The characters are well represented and developed.
