Book Description

June 1, 2006 Harlequin Romance Large Print (Book 741)

At first sight, Alexandra Kingston looked too young to have inherited the running of Moondai cattle station. Overseer Daniel Carson knew she would most likely need all the support he could give her.

Daniel combined strength with gentleness—a heady mix for a woman who had learned the hard way how to fight her own battles. Alexandra's small frame belied her inner strength, but she couldn't deny that having Daniel close by her side made her feel both protected...and desired.

5.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable yet fresh!, July 21, 2006
Obviously we read these books because we love the story, and not a lot changes from book to book, but that doesn't mean we aren't right there waiting for the next one. And while this one is about the same formula I was pleasantly surprised to see a hero who was a bit different this time. Daniel Carson was NOT the bigger than life wealthy station owner wielding power and presence. He is the station employed overseer. Besides which he seems to be cut from a more sensitive cloth. He is all that we want in a hero for sure, but there seems to be a softer side to this character that was surprising and totally attractive. Ms Way has given us so many wonderful books I am amazed that she can keep thinking up plots, never mind tweaking a tried and true character. But Daniel caught my attention. I was almost sorry to see the bit on the end that dropped the whole story back into formula, but its a small quibble compared to the opportunity to meet these new characters and enjoy their story.
