A great start to an exciting and refreshing new series!,

The Outcast Brigade was a great start to the new series, The Outcasts. Nantaje is an ex-Apache scout, who gets a ragtag bunch of ex-soldiers to help him get his sister, nephew and some of his tribe, back from slavers. The history for the time period is accurate and informative. The main characters are interesting. There is also alot of humor and warmth that developes between them. Instead of the typical modern Special-Ops type novels, The Outcast series is set in the old west with ex-Union and Southern soldiers joining together. If your looking for something new and refreshing, this is it.
