This review is from: Outdoor Power Equipment (ED Version) (Small Engine Repair) (Hardcover)
This book is a tad pricey but well worth it, if you're seriously interested in learning about Small Engines, he starts off at A and goes completely to Z. Evening describing a great deal if not all the tools needed, in detail. If you're an expert in the field you may or may not find much help, but if you're a beginner or intermediate skill level this is "The Book"

One of the most informative books I've read on the subject. Very simple and illustrativly formatted. If your looking for the one book this one is it. When using this book with the repair manual of a specific manufacture you will have all the information you need at your fingertips.

A very enjoyable read, well organized with few errors, but a bit weak in its explanations of engine powered systems.

One of several texts I bought to prep for the EETC exam. It's a good complement to the Small Engines text and work book and is recommended by EETC. The text is more practical in that it covers basic two- and four-stroke small engine concepts, but also shows you procedures and operation information for particular types of equipment, for example, lawn mowers, snow throwers, lawn tractors, pumps, chainsaws, etc.(no marine stuff). It includes troubleshooting, maintenance, service, and tune ups. I learn really well by seeing stuff done, so I really liked the use of photo series to explain procedures. This is a book I keep in my shop as a reference. Even if you aren't seeking a certification, this would be worth buying as a reference especially if you have a lot of different types of equipment to maintain.
