These sacks are not completely "waterproof". I would not use them to protect a pda or cell phone when out canoeing. However, they are fairly water resistant, great for putting a wet bathing suit into or to keep your packed clothing dry in a drizzle. They have a stiff flat metal piece across the top, you fold the top over a few times and click the buckle to fasten. The green one is large enough for a pair of large size (mens 11) adult shoes. The orange one will fit a mens t shirt, a pair of shorts and some socks with a little stuffing. The blue one is good for toiletries. Overall, great for the price, but not a something I would trust to keep my electronics dry during a dip in the river.

Ultimate WET Sack,

You get what you pay, and this is true of the Outdoor Products dry sack. I just returned from a one-night backpacking trip and was out in a thunderstorm. I put my food in the orange bag (sealed it) and then put it inside the green bag and sealed that down. Hung my food bag, thinking it was dry til morning. Nope. It rained through the night and completely soaked through both bags. Not a stitch was dry. Both bags were dripping wet inside and out as if they were made of cotton. You can do much better for just a little more money, and your food will be dry. Thank goodness I was only out for one night.

I thought the price for dry sacks was too good to be true - and I was right. These are ALMOST dry sacks. 1st trip out everything inside was moist - not wringing wet, but moist - nothing more enticing than a handful of soggy wet tissues. DO NOT USE to keep electronics dry! Best use is after the fact to store wet shoes or clothes for the trip home. Of course a plastic grocery bag does the same job and costs less. Disappointing purchase.
