I've had OR gaiters for years, and torn them so many times with my crampons that it was time for new ones--so I got the same ones again! Is there any better recommendation that a repeat purchase? These are sturdy, well made gaiters that can take a lot of punishment (just watch those crampons!), and I'd recommend them to any outdoor enthusiast.

I purchased a pair of these for a backpacking class I was taking last winter and they worked wonderfully in the snow. They kept my legs dry and added a little extra warmth. Initially I got the wrong size. I ordered the XL since according to their website it would fit between 10-13 size I am a size 12 I thought that would work, well what they don't tell you is that you need to have calves the size of the Hulk to keep them up. I found the XL to be to big around the leg area (would have been fine had their been more Velcro). Once I receive the correct size L the fit was perfect. I believe the sizing is to accommodate a bigger boot, since I was using a light hiking boot and not a true mountaineering boot.

If the successful use of their product wasn't enough the customer service I received from Outdoor Research was definitely a step about the rest. One of the gaiters developed a small hole along the seem (no big deal, probably could have sown it up myself) however after contacting them (since they have such a great guarantee) they went out of their way to make a satisfied customer. This is becoming a rarity in businesses and I will continue to use their products and recommend them to my friends since I know they stand behind their products 100%.

These are top-knotch. They fit over large boots (Garmont Syner-G telemark in my case) and accommodate my Asolo Snowfield leathers without being too baggy. They keep me dry and snow-free, so I can telemark in my Carhartts. Fitting, adjustment, and removal is easy with gloves or mittens on, as long as the bottom-strap isn't mucked with. They have sturdier fabric on the bottom so accidentally slicing them open with your ski edge is somewhat less common. Can't say anything bad really!
