I got this recently on an exchange for something else... it was recommended to me by the folks at Outdoor Research.I own a lot of high-end parkas and jackets already, but this one manages to find that rare "sweet spot" of good design, light weight, excellent fit and finish, warmth and good ergonomics. Frankly, there's a lot of gear out there, but only 10-15% of it is the kind that shines- and this is in that group.I wore it in a 20-degrees snowstorm with high winds and it was toasty warm.
Stuff the product description doesn't mention:The sleeves and shoulders are laminated with Pertex Endurance, a heavier-weight fabric that sheds water, snow, wind and enhances thermal efficiency, so it's as water-resistant as you can expect a down jacket to be unless it's covered by a Goretex shell. There's an large inside pocket. The hand-warmer pockets are insulated. The hood has adjustments. The front zipper is a two-way.
Well worth the money, and an unusually good piece of gear!
