Needed a rain hat because I cannot use an umbrella to walk dog since one hand holds leash and the other holds a cane. (rain jacket hoods either blow off - or obstruct my vision). This hat is comfortable even in very warm weather and the rain just bounces off. The misty rose is a lovely color too.
The chin strap is easy to adjust and comfortable.

I ordered the turquoise color, and while the photo here showed it with a green brim and a square top, I got solid turquoise, including the brim, with the interior being a dark grey and the cord a lighter grey, and it had a more rounded top. This is perfect, the fit is great plus I love the look, and it's still adjustable like the Outdoor Research Seattle Sombrero Rain Hat. It's better than the Seattle Sombrero because the brim is stiff and won't blow up in the wind; even if there was a magnificent gust, there's no velcro on the sides of the hat so the sides wouldn't fasten themselves up. So glad I ordered!

This hat is good looking, fits well and repels rain. One small note: the wide brim in back is designed to keep the rain off your neck but in the wind, it acts like a foil to lift the hat off your head! Synching it down keeps the hat on, fortunately.

I bought this hat because I often have to be outside directing traffic at my school in rainy weather. My hood keeps blowing off and the umbrella is no good when you need both hands. I do not like things on my head. Hats are never worn by me. This hat is comfortable and easy to wear and it really does the job. I carry it in my car so I have it at home and at work. I am considering getting another one. This is a great buy.

My wife and I moved to Oregon recently, only to discover they don't sell a lot of rain hats out here (welcome to Oregon!). So we went on line and bought this. She says it keeps her warm, dry and the color (Turquoise) makes her happy! This is our second Outdoor Research product, but won't be our last.

Awesome hat; comfortable; looks nice; sizing is customized, therefore, comfortable. Other brands, "one size fits all" hats, have been too small for me. This hat protects me from the sun rays and is not too hot. I wear it while kayaking.

This is a uni-sex hat. They label the large size as men's and the medium and small sizes as women's but they are really the same hat.

I'm a professional, well dressed, 50-something guy and travel to Europe and South America a lot for business and pleasure. I needed a rain and sun hat for occasional city use. Also, I needed something that was light weight, packs easily and was fashionable.

Most crushable hats are horribly ugly "bush whacker" types. This was much, much better. It is black has minimal ugly logos and is passable. I removed the tacky chin drawstring and improved its looks 100%.

Compared with the competition it is "five stars"; however, it is not really exqusite either. Think of it as a substitute for an urban, black umbrella.

I do recommend this to family and friends.

I purchased this hat for my sister that is a tour guide... knowing it can rain on the turn of a dime, this seemed like a great gift! She LOVES the hat and said it fit well too. However, I ordered the women's version which has the cute monotoned embroidered flower. The hat arrived right before Christmas without the flower. I had no choice but to give it to her as is...

If you are looking for a feminine version, use caution, it may take multiple attempts to get the correct one.

I usually wear a large hat. I ordered a large in this, and it's too large - should have purchased a medium. There is a cinch on the back to tighten in, but it's not nearly enough to make this snug. My ears actually fit up inside the hat - it I pull it down too far, it's will cover my eyes. Sow, yea, it's a big fit. The quality is great - covered in the same material as my London Fog rain coat.

I bought this hat for a trip ti Seattle where it proceeded to not rain 1 drop. I'm still waiting for rain at home - it's been a long dry summer - so I'll let you know if I ever get to use it. It's a cute hat though and I like the color.
