This is an insane gun. Fires nerf type ammo, and feels just great. Very realistic shotgun action. I've been searching a rifle for my arsenal, this is the one. This is my rifle, This is my gun. This is for war, and this is fun. Don't buy the Rapid Fire Rifle, Double Barrel Shotgun, or the Tommy 20 by Buzzbee. Quality is bad. If you're looking for a great primary, with awesome range, with a realistic look, this is for you. Also, education wise, this teaches you hand eye coordination, as well as exercise. So buy it, and go out and shoot something! Also makes an insanely loud, ear shattering sound. Just kidding. But it is pretty loud when fired.

Ok. So out of the box it performs poor. But then again most all nerf guns do so that is really irrelevant. By standards of a professional nerf modder (my modded blasters sell for over $200) this blaster is amazing. It can be transformed from a weak child's toy that ranges 10-15' to a dominating weapon that will hurl foam darts over 100'. This and the pump action shotgun are the two best currently produced nerf type blasters. Like most nerf type blasters you will need to modify the barrels to shoot the optimal "stefan" style foam darts. The darts that are included are similar to the older style nerf darts called MEGAS. They can still be ordered from Hasbro directly. however the company that produces this blaster also sells refills of the same type darts it comes with. Amazon does not however sell them. If you do want to use standard common nerf type ammo you can do that also.

This is a beautiful weapon. However it has some big drawbacks. Drawbacks that make this weapon just not fun at all.

First it has a strange safety. The safety tends to jam when you charge the weapon. This results in the firing of the weapon being very unpredictable. In a LARP or NERF war you need to be able to count on your weapon firing. This dang safety will throw your game off every time. Secondly the ammo is a little bigger than buzz - bee or nerf. This means you can only use the ammo that comes with the weapon and try finding replacement rounds. It is next to impossible. Thirdly the foam rounds rarely seat right inside the weapon. This means that the rounds will not fire more than six inches past the muzzle of the gun.

In the end you have constant malfunctions due to the safety, ammo issues due to the size of the rounds, and zero range. This is a bad product all around and one I wish I never purchased.
