The Mind of A Scientist,
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Outer Shores 2: Breaking Through (Paperback)
Although I never became interested in Marine Biology or the retrieval of such creatures from the waters, I find the philosophical discussions that are splashed throughout here to be wonderful. This gave me the opportunity to explore the life, mind, and world of the man who John Steinbeck attempted to immortalize with the Cannery Row character "Doc". This opened my mind to the larger picture of the phalanx of living creatures, but even more important it awakened in me the curiosity that comes from our own species that runs across these beaches. Regarding the human race, Ricketts shows how even we get a chance to play God in the form of creation known as poetry. And all this sprung from the mind of a scientist.
