I guess if you classify a Biker as just a tough guy then sure.
Rsamiam
This book was a total ripoff written in large type with no substance.
Scooter
It's an interesting story, but not quite what I was expecting.

Dick Hayes's story "Outlaw Biker: My Life at Full Throttle" is perhaps one of the few realistic, centerline stories of a man who adopted the 1%er lifestyle and the motorcycle that goes with it as his way of living life. He is not a Sonny Barger nor a Ruben Cavazos, but rather a run-of-the-mill guy / biker who lived the bulk of his life on the fringes of society with all that entails...that's why he calls himself an outlaw biker.

In the macro picture he's your average 1%er and he describes how really unromantic the daily doings of a outlaw rider are despite the few, primarily criminal, "bright spots" - all that ultimately lead to either the hospital, the courts, or prison from what Dick describes.

As with nearly all bios and auto-bios coming from this slice of the criminal culture, little if any remorse is extended to the victims of the outlaw biker world's dependence on drug dealing, theft, firearms trafficking, sexual slavery, assault, murder, rape, domestic violence and all those other society-killing activities that keep him and those like him rolling on two wheels.

This exclusion of individual responsibility is yet another affirmation coming from the 1%er sub-culture of why Hunter Thompson ended his book on the Hells Angels with this advice from "The Heart of Darkness", the classic tome of Man at his very worst -

"The horror! The horror!...Exterminate all the brutes!"

Cleanly written, easy to put down and pick back up again, kudos to his co-writer for bringing it to life in print.

I bought this book on a whim, I needed a small purchase to get my free shipping. But still I was very disappointed. The story was just about some life long loser and it never got to any outlaw club stories. The implication I got from the title was it would be about outlaw clubs and bike stories, instead it was this losers life story and nothing new or interesting in it. Pass on this one.

I was disappointed with this book. Very little was written about anything to do with his club or motorcycling. It was more a personal story of Mr. Hayes who just so happened to be a biker. I am pleased he found his way, but his story is not unique.

I realy enjoyed Deadeyes recolections of his life with the Los Valientes..firstly I know nothing about being a biker..Im a tour boat skipper in Cairns Australia..but I liked his wild ways and his sense of honour and best of all his sense of humour..He should just write a book now about being a biker givng details of the day to day club life..it really is interesting to a know nothin outsider..bikes scare the bejeezus out of me im afraid..and the laughs and pranks..the rat story was great..beer shot out my nose..as for the negative reviews..I guess they are from hard core wannabes who pander to the mainstream..Deadeye..keep writing..im sure your next one will be even better..cheers Mate!...namaste..

First let me say upfront, I DO NOT BELONG TO ANY CLUB. But as an independent biker for the last 30 years I've known many 1% club members, (mostly Bandido's, but also Outlaws, Mongols and their support clubs). And my "guesstimet" would be that 80 to 90 percent of them are just like "Deadeye" Hayes here, normal working class guys who love to ride and party. The Sonny Barger's, CT Ed Winterhalder's and Doc Carvarzo's are politicians who can make the club work for them instead of the way it is supposed to be, everything for the club. Overall, the book is like the normal bikers life, 80% boring and 20% fun. If you don't have anything better to do read the book, it's not a TOTAL waste of time.

You can never tell what is fact and what is fiction with these sorts of books but at least this one explained some stuff in detail that made me laugh out loud. Certainly some intersting stories amongst the chapters that kept me interested and goes some way to explain how bikers manage to live a certain kind of lifestyle outside of the law. I can't believe Deadeye can tell some of these stories without getting arrested. Mildly entertaining and worth a look!!

I've been reading a lot of these types of books lately, I'm not a fan of fiction at all as I find non fiction to be much more interesting. That being said, when I find a subject I like I'll read just about every book I can find on that subject and that's why I've read probably 10 or 12 books on the outlaw life style from bikers like Barger and Cavazos to cops that have infiltrated the clubs like Queen or Rowe and everyone in between. All things considered, this book ranks right up there as the worst of the bunch, although I read it in one night and literally couldn't put it down, it was because it was so bad I wanted to see just how bad it could be, you know, kind of like seeing Sharknado II to see if it was worse than the first. This guy is almost the human looking version of the lead cartoon character on the show Over the Hill, the one Bart Simpson harassed, yet he claims he's got an 8" Dick, can last for hours and has slept with an ungodly amount of women because they just can't resist his charms and, he's the baddest MFer out there, it really is sadly comical, especially in the sense that he really believes his own hype. There are way better books out there than this one, Alex Caine has 3 good books if you like the undercover aspect of the biker world or if you prefer it from the bikers side Phil Cross' Gypsy Joker to a Hell's Angel, Unrepentant from Peter Edwards or Outlaws from Tony Thompson are all way better than this book. Just remember somewhere between what the bikers version says and what the cops version says is where the truth is, as neither side is going to be completely truthful or not self serving in their version of the "the facts".
