Vintage Tompall,

Vintage Tompall, and great to hear new material again. Former recordings of Stand Beside Me and Lean On Me have been cleverly adapted, and I particlar enjoyed the tracks When They Ring Those Golden Bells and Let The Lower Lights Be Burning. More please.

A TRULY GREAT TOMPALL RELEASE,
By GEORGE ROUT "STEEL GUITAR AND DOBRO PLAYER" (ST. CATHARINES, ON, CANADA) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)

While this CD is promoted by Clint Miller as a gospel music CD, it is typical of the great Tompall outlaw sound. The last cut which includes Clint Miller could have been left off, he doesn't add, in fact, detracts from the music style. If you're a Tompall fan as I am, this CD will fit right into your collection of his releases. Great songs, great sounds.

Tompall Glaser has one of the best tenor voices in any music genre, even when he recorded this in 2006 aged seventy-three.
Tompall and Jim Glaser both resumed solo careers after the final break-up of Tompall and The Glaser Brothers around 1982. With Chuck Glaser, the Glaser Brothers recorded some of the finest country harmonies ever. The difference between earlier Outlaw-styled Tompall recordings and this Gospel album simply adds to the full appreciation of his outstanding talent. There has never been enough recordings available of the Glaser Brothers nor of Jim and Tompall's solo career, although this has improved recently with the Hillbilly Central CDs. If you already are a Tompall/Glaser Brothers fan, buy this CD. If you haven't heard much of their music, buy this CD. Then look for anything you can find by Tompall and The Glaser Brothers, Tompall's solo recordings and Jim's solo recordings. If you like good music you will not be disappointed. On Outlaw To The Cross, it is very difficult to pick a favourite song from eleven masterpieces, but Life's Railway To Heaven must be near the top of the list.

Over many years of collecting the recordings of Tompall and The Glaser Brothers and I think I have all that they ever released-- this one is one of Tompall's finest -- to see his name on any recording I will buy it as I know you are in for some good old country music,so friends --BUY THIS CD and listen and you will see what I mean for a man who is in his 70s he can still keep them coming.
