Fun concept runined by bad controls,
By Eric A. Padilla (DALLAS, TX USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Outlaw Golf (Video Game)
I rented this game to try it out. The concept is fun and the courses are interesting. In general the game follows most golfing game scenarios, pick a golfer, play in a competion, the more you win the more golfers and better equipment you get to use. While the concept is fun, it is ruined by the control system, esp for putting. While the controls are the same as with most golf games, control back and forward for the stroke, the physics for hitting a draw or fade is incorrect, you actually have to use a different control to set where you want to hit the ball for a draw or a fade instead of incorporating it into the stroke like in Tiger Woods 2003. The putting stroke is horrid, depending on the distance to the aim point a 50% stroke can take you 4 ft up to 50 ft. This makes it next to impossible to create a repeatable putting stroke. In summary, if you want a golf simulation game, go buy Tiger Woods. If you want something to play with your buds over a six pack get Outlaw Golf.

Lot's of Fun!!!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Outlaw Golf (Video Game)
First off, I would only recommend this game for teen and adult players. It has some aspects, like beating ones caddy and sexual innuendos, that make it a little inappropriate for the younger folks. Also, the gameplay is somewhat similar to slightly more serious golf games (a.k.a. Tiger Woods Golf), in that it requires a certain amount of precision to stroke the ball properly. What makes this game stand out is the uniques characters with entertaining personalities, coupled with a composure factor that measure a players level of frustration. Of course, poor composure can be remedied by making a good shot, or beating up one's caddy. Lots of fun in multiplayer mode as well. Our family spent hours over the holidays playing this game. I would recommend this for people that like to play golf games, enjoy relaxed gameplay, and are looking for something different.

Realistic golf game,
By A Customer

We rented this game a few days ago and having been playing it non-stop ever since. We're rushing out to buy it. Besides the hilarious characters and funny commentary, we love that it's a truly realistic golf game. People have been complaining about how touchy the controls are...but that's how real golf is! You move your club just the slightest bit right or left and you're in the rough! It's very realistic. Even down to the composure..you hit a great shot, you're happy as can be. Hit that bad one, and you're pissed off. I'd recommend renting this game before buying just to make sure it's your cup of tea....but we LOVED it!
