More About the Author

"One of my all time favorite writers, Nicole Jordan delivers romance like no one else. Captivating, enticing, and irresistible, her books are always on my must buy list."--Sherrilyn Kenyon, #1 New York Times bestselling author

"Nicole Jordan charms and captivates."--Jillian Hunter, New York Times bestselling author

New York Times bestselling author Nicole Jordan spins delightful tales that simmer with passion and sensuality. In her former life, Nicole grew up as an Army brat, moving frequently and attending high school in Germany. She later earned a civil engineering degree from Georgia Tech and spent eight years as a manufacturing manager making disposable diapers and toilet tissue! Currently Nicole lives in the Rocky Mountains of Utah with her real-life hero (her husband) and beloved kids (her horses).

With over two-dozen historical romances to her credit and five million books in print, set in numerous eras and locales, Nicole now enjoys chronicling the sparks that fly when Regency lovers play the matrimonial mating game.

One of her novels had the dubious honor of being humorously spotlighted by Jay Leno on "The Tonight Show." On a more serious note, Nicole's romances regularly appear on numerous bestseller lists, including The New York Times, Publishers Weekly, and USA Today, and have earned such honors as RITA finalist, RWA's Favorite Book of the Year, theRomantic Times Career Achievement Award for Historical Romance, and the Dorothy Parker Award of Excellence, presented by a group of over one hundred romance reviewers.

1.0 out of 5 stars Dreadful!, February 5, 2004
By
This review is from: The Outlaw (Paperback)
This should be a short story, for as a novel it is filled with nothing. How many pages must a reader endure reading the same thing again, (and again), AND again? End it!

Our heroine, Caitlin Kingsly, is a selfish, self-centered female. A so-called heroine? One I couldn't be fond of. The hero, Jake McCord, tries. He is blamed for the murder of Caitlin's brother. Of course, he is innocent; everyone believes him - except our little "Cat" girl. Nope, this little lady will not forget or forgive.

Oh boo hoo, where have you been for the last 4 years?

* What, my brother shot you and you almost died!

* What, my daddy framed you and bounty hunters stalked you?

* What, you became a dirty, lowdown hired gun because you had to eat!

* So, what about me - me - me - little selfish Caitlin Kingsly?

* JUST WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?

This self-absorbed, dreary creature is not worthy of Jake's attention or his love. Simply put - visit the library.

4.0 out of 5 stars Jake and Caitlin-SPOILERS, February 28, 2006

Favorite scene with Caitlin-

Helping Jake by tricking Grimes at the saloon, letting him think that she wants Jake hunted down.

Favorite scene with Jake-

Jake with Ryan and the little lamb.

Together-

Jake in jail after turning himself in. Caitlin learning that Jake had been innocent all along.

What did you like about Caitlin-

Her love for her son. Defending Jake when people put him down.

What didn't you like about Caitlin-

She was selfish. Yes, she was putting her son first, but it seemed like her way was the only way. She was willing to believe her family over Jake. And when she did realize that she believed Jake, she called the shots regarding sex and their life together, especially with their son. Like Jake, I, too, was angry that she might not have ever told him about their son.

What did you like about Jake-

He wasn't too hardened of an outlaw. He had a great sense of humor, and he loved Caitlin, despite how she acted, and his son. He wanted to be a judge because of his past.

What didn't you like about Jake-

This isn't a bad thing at all. After all, this is a romance novel. But it seemed he was more focused on sex than the fact that bounty hunters were after him. It's like he didn't care. He just wanted Caitlin and sex. Although I can understand what Caitlin's family did to him, I don't understand why he didn't want to live on Caitlin's ranch. They could have made it a wonderful, loving place together. Allowing Lew to go free. Wonder whatever happened to him. Why would Jake help such a creepy dude?

If I had to cast Jake, I'd cast Brad Pitt.

If I had to cast Caitlin, I'd cast Reese Witherspoon.

1.0 out of 5 stars I have to agree with the last reviewer, January 23, 2005
This review is from: The Outlaw (Paperback)
This book was so boring. How many pages of Caitlin whining about the same thing (in between having hot sex of course) do we have to endure?

I usually love Nicole Jordan's books, but this one was so slow and boring, I was very disappointed. I honestly felt NOTHING for either character. I think the same thing over and over dulled my senses. :)
